A professional sportsmans life put in danger in fear of riots.

"The referee was going to call the fight off and disqualify him and I’ve gone, 'No, that cannot happen. It’ll be a nightmare, there’ll be riots in the stands, there’ll be riots around the country and there’ll be bodies in the street,’’ danny green said.

curious if an aleague ref admitted he did not disallow a goal in fear of rioting fans would it be portrayed in the same way and mostly glossed over ? Hmm

Yeah, it's funny.
Particularly as pro boxing seems to be so corrupted by the influence of gangsters of various stripes and is basically an outlet for gambling - not to mention literally glorifying punching other people in the face - but we're happy to throw public money at it and ignore its seedy underbelly.

I haven't followed the story too closely but I did read that police weren't willing to release the exact numbers of arrested fans.
People complain that football fans are precious when it comes to stories about crowd issues. I really think there is a reason for it.

But were they really "soccer fans" brawling at the AFL?
How does that work?
I'm lost Stuckey, sorry, but in this day and age it seems everything is possible to "fake" if you have an agenda.

I'm dizzy...

Oh sorry. No this image is just a joke. But the brawl at the Showdown really happened.

From my understanding it started with a Crows and Power fan shouting obscenities at each other. A seperate sane Power fan stepped in and defused the situation, an action which a 3rd Power fan objected to and kicked off the actual brawl.

Topped off with multiple cases of racism at the game and atleast one other brawl filmed.
Police do not release stats at adelaide oval but do at hindmarsh. No idea why
