Great news. The real issue IMO is though how do we get more participants attending football matches?

True. Hopefully games like Liverpool coming to town as well can be great icebreakers for getting kids/families along to games more. There's definitely an inferiority complex about professional football in Australia.
Having old pros like Schwarzer (who hasn't played in Aus for 20 years) being dismissive about it certainly doesn't help.
Neither does young players doing everything they can to piss off immediately to some foreign league where the standard of play is no better than the A-League.
Thankfully both are changing .. albeit slowly
Pissing off for substantially bigger paychecks - wouldn't you do the same in a short time career? There's definitely an inferiority complex about professional football in Australia.

"Gallop is highlighting to everyone that he owns the fastest car in the neighbourhood, but he can't drive."
Just imagine if every person involved in the game had an interest in the HAL.
