Wanderers winning the West's code wars

Postby Stuckey Tue Sep 02, 2014 2:09 pm

The report revealed the Hyundai A-League club have sold 2000 more than individual season tickets than Parramatta Eels, Penrith Panthers, Wests Tigers, Canterbury Bulldogs, and GWS Giants.

Wanderers are set to hit their 16,000 season ticket-holder limit in the next fortnight, with more than 15,300 of last year’s members retaining their seats.

Amazing news! IMO its goes to show the FFA have got their expansion plan correct. Focusing on areas of large population is a better way forward then hoping a regional town will have either a white knight or enough community support to survive.

Focus on large population areas now, then in the future when the game is more stable branch out to regional areas, or allow clubs just to grow through the FFA Cup and NPL finals as that expands.

I think this really boosts calls for Pirtek Stadium to be upgraded. It was already a strong call!

October's Sydney Derby, the first of the new Hyundai A-League season, has already sold 5000 tickets which is currently more than both this weekend's NRL finals at Allianz Stadium combined.

Could you imagine this when the HAL began 10 years ago?!
Great news! For all their failings FFA's move to create a club in West Sydney was a masterstroke.

Wanderland is set to get even louder this season with an extra 4000 seats to be installed as part of a $29 million upgrade to Pirtek stadium.

Great news. With the amount of members they have this season this is clearly required!

Great. Just what we have been asking for!

Now for Hindmarsh to do the same!
