Phoenix ASB Premiership addition a win-win

Postby Stuckey Fri Aug 22, 2014 11:09 am

A new era for the ASB Premiership was announced today with the Wellington Phoenix confirmed to participate in the new nine-team national league competition for 2014-2015.

New Zealand Football CEO Andy Martin welcomed the A-League franchise club into the fold.

“The addition of the Wellington Phoenix team strengthens both the A-League franchise and the overall quality of our national competition which is very important,” Martin said.

Great to see another HAL club allowed into their 'local' league.
Seems NZ can see the clear benefits to all.

Hopefully all other HAL clubs will follow suit soon.

FFA are making it mandatory to have HAL teams in the NPL from 2016 aren't they?

Only chance AU have of getting into the state league.

The last I heard that was the case. I'm not sure if that's still the case or that makes it certain.
