IMO 14 teams is enough to put a hold on ALM expansion for the time being. Unless an option arrives that the league can't ignore. That gives us 26 games where everyone plays home and away, (which isn't enough but at least makes the comp fairer). Then focus on building the 2nd Div with clubs being far more community focused. Build that to at least 12 clubs, then as more club join the 2nd div open promotion only, once the ALM reaches 20 clubs put relegation in place. Then build 2nd div to 20 clubs then open promotion and relegation for the NPL clubs with each season's NPL champions winning promotion.

I assume Western United will be playing out of the Wyndham Regional Football Facility this year. A step closer to the Tarneit Stadium solution.

It appears the Auckland team has a preferred bidder, and not a shabby one either.

Possibly - it's been on the expansion cards for a while as a big city not currently represented. I get it's odd being NZ, but I actually rate this idea. Should benefit both NZ teams and this kind of backing is something hard to find in the A-League.

I'm a big fan of the idea; always have been.

I am curious to see what the Canberra club looks like.

A new football club is set to join the A-Leagues after the owner of AFC Bournemouth and the Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey team , Bill Foley, secured a licence for a club based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Auckland’s new A-League entry will be known simply as Auckland FC, donning an “electric blue” and black kit and with the nickname of the Black Knights.
When the club join in the 2024-25 season, they will do so with a kit resembling that of iconic Italian club Internazionale: black and blue vertical stripes.

I wish it wasn’t a NZ team.
