2014 NPL Finals

Postby Stuckey Thu Aug 14, 2014 1:29 pm

I didn't realise that the participants are the league winners not the GF winners I like that.

So obviously Metrostars are in and strangely Newcastle Youth Academy side are in.

Not a fan of that IMO. This tournament should be about boosting the existing NPL clubs not giving the HAL clubs another thing to play in.
I feel like having a development squad in this cheapens it a bit.

Shows how weak NNSW is and how they don't deserve 2 FFA cup spots...

Is it true that the NPL winner gets an automatic spot in next season's FFA Cup? Makes it a little more interesting if so!

Metrostars are in the NPL grandfinal after tipping out South Melbourne. Adelaide City are in the FFA Cup quarters, tipping out Wanderers along the way. Adelaide United are in the FFA Cup quarters after facing nothing but A-League opposition.

South Australia represents B)

Off the pitch we appear to be in shambles but on the pitch it seems we're as strong as ever. Add AUFC to that as this season fans are as confident of success as ever and things are going great guns!

It would be the first time that someone has queried as to what is the in the water in Adelaide without referencing the sediment.

So happy! We always deserved more than one FFA cup spot! I know its based on registered players but surely now everyone can see a third or fourth tier nsw vpl team is no match to SA clubs.

NPL Finals Series | Grand Final - Half Time

Bonnyrigg White Eagles 0 MetroStars 1

Fabian Barbiero's goal after 3 mins gives us the half time lead. The pressure has been on our defence with Bonnyrigg having most of the possession, however, Mitris and Tunbridge both came close to scoring for us.
