MetroStars win 1-0.

Created the better chances on the counter. Resolute defence.

Bonnyrigg with all the possession but never looked threatening.

2014 NPL Finals

Postby EdDog Sat Oct 04, 2014 6:18 pm

Commentators said they get a spot in next year's FFA Cup. Not sure if it's as a result of finishing top locally or winning the NPL grand final.

Be good if both MetroStars and Croydon get to participate.

Yes the National NPL winner gets a spot. Then the winner of the Federation Cup. The SA NPL league or GF winner don't get a spot.

So does that mean MetroStars will be our only rep?

I don't think allocations have been made yet, but that would mean FFA would be taking one spot away from SA then so I think not. My tip is they'll take a spot from NNSW if they do that. Their federation has IMO been shown to be rather weak.

Yeah, its one thing to allocate spots based on numbers of registered players/teams but its also important to give the cup integrity by having the best NPL clubs on offer to lower the chance of 10-nil maulings.

Not to mention it could give an unnoticed youngster the exposure he needs, think leckie, ognenovski, barbiero etc who were all at one point shunned by aleague clubs
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie

There may be an earlier round as the NT has to come into play as well.

Where have you heard this? Maybe like the WC we'll see 1/2 spots given out?
