Gold Coast will have its second A-League soccer team by 2018

Postby Stuckey Fri May 09, 2014 7:48 pm

The Gold Coast City Council has appointed a full-time consultant to help form an A-League soccer team in the city by 2018.

Former Brisbane Roar CEO Eugenie Buckley has been brought on board to put together a strategy for a premier league team, as well as look at the sport here.

Ms Buckley, who was also Football Federation Australia legal and business affairs general manager and ICC Women’s World Cup Australia CEO and tournament director, has to deliver a report to the city council at the end of June.

Great as long as sides are feisable then why not. I think Gold Coast has a massive amount of potential especially with a rivalry with Brisbane.
I think if we just took Clive out of the club it may have survived.
I think its pretty clear for the new people what not to do! I think a lot more fan engagement and a decently worked out stadium deal (the stadium they have is ideal for HAL) and there is a great chance the club could be a welcome addition to the HAL.
Time to Djbate!
