You have to give that penalty clear chop of the arms to made Nabbout unable to hold that easy chest mark. At least thats what it looked like he was trying to do

While I agree that Nabbout's penalty was a load of shit, Smeltz should have made it 2-0 down the other end one minute prior and it would have been seeya later Melbourne, thanks for coming.

But he missed it which leaves them opening for a brain fade at the back or a dubious referee decision which kills them.

The penalty and the sending off was a joke, granted. But if Perth took their opportunities then it would have been game over.

Don't think any Melbourne bias was in play here, just a very shitty decision.

I thought it was a penalty, aside from the standard ignoring of the handball. Pantelidis first instinct was to put his hands all over Nabbout, he gets no sympathy from me, much like Boogard vs Bunyodkor.

More troubling is the two non-penalties to Perth, where two players who were obviously fouled didn't receive penalties solely because they were interested in playing the game rather than falling over.

That's the real problem, inconsistency. Gilett loves the drama and the spotlight, injury time penalties during elimination finals are his signature move. He's a joke.

Three things to take away

A) Congratulations to Alessandro Del Piero for repeatedly using the term 'soccer' and delivering metaphorical knives to the hearts of fanboys nationwide over and over and over again. He earned his award.

B) Hersi snaps in a pressure game. Entirely predictable.

C) The whole crowd poznan proves that the FFA needs to create special lower decisions for that club to be banished to, lest that pestilence spread further.

The Hyundai A-League 2013 Grand Final will be played at Allianz Stadium, Sydney, next Sunday 21 April, 4pm kick off.

The confirmation follows Western Sydney Wanderers’ thrilling 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar in the Semi Final at Parramatta Stadium tonight

I wonder what sort of crowd they would have got at ANZ? Pity 10k rugby league fans are using it that day.

Is it just me or does the first season for WSW sort of remind you of AUFC's first season? Amazing support almost coming out of nowhere.
The point I'm making is that WSW can't sit back and say 'job done' and lousy second season and poor fan engagement going forward could easily see WSW fall back to the pack. I hope not, I would love to see them raise the bar further and push the rest of the HAL to follow their lead.

i think the fair weather supporters or the types to not turn up when losing are more likely to stay loyal due to the RBB atmosphere. we never had such great active support. they will drop some if they hit a rough patch but don't think it will be like us where we now struggle for 10k.
man i miss that feeling when we first started up...turning up to a packed hindmarsh with a sea of red

First season or not im not sure there how many other clubs around the world have such an intense atmosphere.

A full stadium poznan would raise eye brows at any stadium in the world.

Sure they are in their honeymoon period and will have ups and downs, but they have developed a real club culture in such a short time and have worked out their identity. Something that i dont think was ever really achieved here.

Id like to think it was a glimpse into the near future at any stadium in AUS

Does anyone know what their contract situations are like? We're most signed on 1 year deals? Surely they won't have additional visa spots next season so they may not have had long contracts for their internationals.
