Jason Culina

Sacked by Sydney after a bust-up with Franky.
We've got a spot in the roster for another midfielder with Caravella gone, and presumably a little bit of cash...
Would we? Would you want Culina on a short-term deal?
(he's one of my favourite Roos of all time so I'd have him in a red shirt in a heartbeat)

I am a big fan of Culina, a very smart player on the pitch. In saying that I don't know if he would fit in our current set-up.

sign him quick before this week's game so he can fire up!

I'd have him for remainder of season, maybe push Carrusca or vido out wider. I really rate Culina, but we do have an abundance of quality AMs so I doubt the club will splurge for him.

I thought about this immediately, but then like ganas, I wondered where he might play for us.

I guess in the middle of the park and that could free up Vidosic to play out wide or float behind the striker - or in a defensive role and send Malik to right back (where he was terrific on Friday night).

In summary, he's a classy player but I don't think he's a great fit for us in all honesty.

And after singing McKain's praises not even 5 minutes ago I completely forgot about him in this thread!

In short, an attacking role is the only realistic option for Culina for us (and in fact, at this level of the game he's probably wasted without playing at AM anyway) so that just reaffirms my thoughts.

We really could do with strenghtening in a few positions - however that's one position I think we're pretty solid.

I'd offer him a pay as you play contract and a firm message that what the coach says goes!

What is it with him?
Is he bigger than the club?

Yes he's got (had) talent,
He's injury prone,
Has an ego that is now not inline with his footballing abilities,
Would listen to his Dad before his coach.

Let Victory pick him up

Victory won't sign him unless he's played for AUFC. Duh.
