Victory v Heart
Anyone else watching this?
High quality and fast-paced match so far. Heart doing very well to be 2-1 with all stats (shots on target, balls on the box) in their favour, except possession. Very happy to see them play so well. I was dubious of Aloisi's tactical nous but his tactics are spot on so far.
MV playing some impressive football across the park - but mostly their chances have come from counter attack and their defence is a bit shakey - with Archie, The Traitor, Finkler and Rojas very good.
The Traitor is such a bitch, I have decided. When he was in our team it was OK for the prick to be calling for yellows because he was in our team. Now he suits the big V well, playing like a jerk. Meanwhile, Finkler is a con artist/genius, a great diver. New faces, less dirty play, but still wankers.
I definitely feel the league has gone up a notch. This is like watching the Bundesliga I'm hopeful we can keep up. Hopefully, we can recreate some of the good football we have shown.
2nd half now.

Been keeping an eye on it and you're right - its been very entertaining.
Flores? Yeah, fark him. Between him at the Tards, and van Persie at the Scum, this could be a long painful summer of football for me.

Be strong Mr Tibbs. The Arse look alright and the MV won't be that good, the Heart are looking better at the moment. The fully fit AU will be around the mark, too.

I feel like MV have a few very good players but still a bunch of Leijers.
Heart with Garcia and McCallister played very well.

Not to mention Fred, Marrone, and Dugandzic. Underdogs for sure.

Re: Victory v Heart
MV are going to score a shitload of quality goals this year and potentially concede double that at the back.
Sure p-laying out the back is great and all but if the keeper doesnt have the skill then it will be comedy hour.
Watching flores celebrate the goal and turn the the tard fans in jubilation made be veeeeeery angry, last time he was in melbourne he ran infront of them and basically belittled them

Re: Victory v Heart
Was a typical season opener I thought - pretty scrappy but end-to-end and entertaining enough.
All three goals that were scored were near on identical. Crisp too, no boring goal mouth scrambles.
Initial thought was that AU had looked better in preseason than these two teams tonight but will certainly reserve judgement until we have played.
Garcia is such a huge signing IMO. Completely slipped under the radar for obvious reason but he was good in the Championship so should do well here.
Great to see some football again. It's going to be an interesting year.

On a different note, the AFL can jam their multicultural claims until a head coach is asked a question during an end of game presser in another language and reply fluently.
This is in regards to john Aloisi's presser, its check the last 40 seconds of the video

Ang said in the post match press conference that "there were no positives to come out of the match."
I just about fell off the couch
MV lost what can be more positive than that
