i wouldn't be predicting crowds in perth being over 9k...aren't they renovating and as a result are restricted to 9k capacity?

Tomorrow's match (and another one I think) is at Subiaco.
I was 8k off for my tardby crowd prediction, well in people of Melbourne. Maybe interest in the new season is even higher than we were expecting

great opening round , great crowd and probably the best quality opening round ever.

there are still some big matches to come in the coming weeks for further big crowds so this should be a constant theme and it seems most clubs all have atleast 1 player who is going have the fans gasping for air

Sydney will probably get the spoon this year. They looked completely useless. Feel sorry for the hordes of people who bought Sydney season passes only to have that served up on the weekend (granted the trip to Welly is always hard).

And even more embarrassed for the League for the fact that these Sydney games are being beamed into Italy.

The Jets looked the same - big name, big expectations - big fat nothing.

I think Ono is shaping up to be the best "big-name" acquisition but it is early days yet.

So so so glad AU didn't chance Flores or the big names, our 3 imports will be stars.

Being on rd 2!!

I only had the chance to watch the WSW v CCM highlights but it looked all positive. For one, a healthy looking crowd and fantastic active support. And in regards to Ono, catching him standing on the side lines slapping hands with his team mates as they ran out past him just gave me a buzz. Seems like a quality bloke who will play an influence on the pitch and with team chemistry off of it. Brilliant.

In the washup - pleasantly surprised at the efforts of some of the less-favoured teams (Wellington, Heart, WSW) - as always this should be a very open season. Was great to see football at Parramatta Stadium again, it's a brilliant venue for A-League. Some great players to watch - Del Piero and Ono showed their class and why they're marquee material, there were some top performances by younger players as well, like Mooy... in particular Rogic and Fenton look destined for great things.

del piero was fantastic aswell i thought, his quality really showed in a team that had no clue.

sydney will get better, when is the last time you saw a club play a decent game in wellington? IMO most games played there make your eyes bleed

Farken oath, some nice predictions there, but you let yourself down by tipping against AUFC. For shame!
