Ono they didn't!

JAPANESE star Shinji Ono could sign with Western Sydney Wanderers within days after their limited discussions with Germany's Michael Ballack were terminated.

Ono's recruitment would be a significant coup for the A-League's newest side, given he is one of Asia's most popular players.

I love the idea of sides signing big Asian names as it will certainly be a boost to the HAL's rep in Asia but $800k per season! I would rather see WSW go for a current Socceroo instead if they plan to spend that much.

The clubs surely are privy to the new tv deal and what they can get out of it, because we have gone from one extreme when syd fc were moaning players get paid to much to half the league having a genuine marquee on massive money

Well I think FFA want to make a real play of WSW which is fair enough, Newcastle have Tinkler and Sydney are Sydney.

JAPAN midfielder Shinji Ono's manager's meeting with Western Sydney Wanderers last week has all but secured his signature.

In the middle of the night
In the middle of the night I call your name
Oh Yoko!
Oh Yoko!
My love will turn you on....

(if Wanderers fans don't sing that at games I'll be mighty disappointed)

Oh yes he did!
Sources in Japan have confirmed that Shimizu S-Pulse have released Ono to Western Sydney Wanderers and his arrival is now imminent.

But the worry for Western Sydney Wanderers – or at least it should be – is that even if Ono wanted to play full matches in the A-League, he simply may not have the physical capability to do so.
We shall see...
