Man Utd to come to Oz?

Postby Stuckey Wed Sep 19, 2012 11:22 pm

THE world's greatest soccer team, Manchester United, could be heading to Australia in July.

Three cities - Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane - and five stadiums - the MCG, Etihad, ANZ, SFS and Suncorp - are locked in a bidding war to host the Premier League superstars.

A senior executive from Manchester United was in Australia for talks last week.

The world's greatest team? Thats debatable, I'd say the world's greatest ever team actually! :D

Once again the eastern states show how proactive planning can get big events. As per usual SA does nothing.

They'd only be able to play at either Hindmarsh Stadium (out of the question due to size) or Footy Park, and they'd be asking a price that would pretty much guarantee most people wouldn't bother. I wouldn't pay $100 to watch a big team just going through the motions on the middle of a footy paddock, leave that for Melbourne & Sydney I reckon!
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
