Del Piero to Sydney?

Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
I would be annoyed at this favouritism towards Sydney, however it seems more of a marketing ploy than anything.
If he tears the league a new one and they win the double, then I might feel differently. But can't see that happening.

Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
Take that egg ball!AFTER a week of speculation, confirmations, retractions and negotiations, it's official: Alessandro Del Piero has signed for Sydney FC to become the highest-paid footballer of any code to play in Australia.
(Even I have a smile on my face now that it's official.)

Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
Says in the 'tiser today that we had an opportunity to sign Del Piero in 2010 but turned him down saying he was too old for the A-League. Story not on AdelaideNow as far as I can see.

Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
its easy to twist it to look that way im sure.
The reality is all Aleague clubs probably had the opportunity to sign him, those who had free marquee spots then had to crunch the numbers to see if it was viable.
The fact is , if we paid him 2million a season to only get 16k sellout crowds every match we would probably take a heavey loss

WARNING.....
For those attending the AU v SFC game on December 31
If Del Piero plays be sure to bring nose plugs to the game.
As the smell of moth balls and camphor from all those who attend wearing Juventus shirts will be overpowering.

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
Its easy to spot the old Adelaide City supporters, they're the ones that arrive 5 minutes after kick off and leave 5 minutes before the final whistle.

Speaking of which, I had to laugh at the people who left 5 minutes before full time in the trial match on Wednesday. Firstly, because they missed Serge's goal... secondly, why the fuck would you need to try to 'beat the traffic' when there's only a thousand people there?

Do bother making sense of what people without brains do. They probably don't know themselves!Speaking of which, I had to laugh at the people who left 5 minutes before full time in the trial match on Wednesday. Re: Del Piero to Sydney?
LOL stupid article. As if we could have enticed him here on the (comparatively) meagre salary we could offer.
