Celtic coming back to Australia

Postby Stuckey Sat Apr 16, 2011 12:56 am

CELTIC expects to announce a tour of Australia in July while Melbourne Heart is tipped to complete a raid on South Australians with rare traits.
AdelaideNow understands the Scottish giant will agree to face two yet-to-be-determined A-League sides in pre-season friendly matches after its 2009 visit drew 31,340 fans to Suncorp Stadium in a 3-0 belting over Brisbane Roar.
Who would want to see them in Adelaide? I guess they would have to play at Adelaide Oval for it to be worthwhile.

Unless they're involved in a tournament play interstate.

Val tweeted that 'there will be an adelaidenow announcement next week' when Stobes asked on the subject, which is perhaps an indication that a Celtic v Adelaide United game may be on the cards...

Perth v Celtic has been announced. Good idea IMO - plenty of British expats over in the west. Should draw a decent crowd.

Apparently Perth are charging $70 to watch this match..

And the other team is likely to be Victory
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Well there is no way i would pay $70 to watch Celtic at Adelaide Oval! And there's no way Celtic would play at Hindmarsh. So as per usual Adelaide loses out!

As much as I've whinged about AUFC never getting to play 'high-profile' touring sides - and whinge I indeed have - there is no way I'd pay $70 for the privilege of watching a big foreign club go through the motions against us.

Now I just wanna be in the ACL again :(

Id go regardless but wouldnt be happy about it.

Im not to bothered how big a touring club is, i just want to see something different to perth glory friendlies.

What i would really want to see is a mini tournament like sydney got last year, id also pay to go to the non au games.

Hell even if we got a lowly club like shef wednesday id be happy becquse its something new, obviouslu that will me er happen

Thats why they should bring back those youth tornaments they used to hold. People would go see Liverpool, Rangers and Juventus' youth play ours. Then ina few season if they kept these going they could advertise "come see the next Messi or Ronaldo before he hits the big time!"
