New Jets colours

Postby Agostinho Wed Feb 09, 2011 6:29 pm

So Newcastle are changing their colours - to those of the Newcastle Knights. To be fair though they look quite nice, but I'm not sure it's a great move to be honest...

The fans are NOT HAPPY.

I love it honestly.

It fits in with Tinkler taking the game back to newcastle, also its clear he wants to create a super club with the knights so it makes sense.

But im not a supportor of the club and i suppose their oppinion matters the most

I reckon they should keep their fans happy and either use their current home colours for their away kit or alternate kit

It seems local fans heard rumours of this a while ago, and a few 100 of the supporters group sent individual generic Emails to the club asking them to keep the colours.

Surely they can slip some gold in there somewhere?

I get what Tinkler is trying to do, but there must be some middle ground with the fans surely.

It was a mistake not to use the local colours to begin with.

Blue and Gold have only been local colours since 1988 anyway.

They had different ones before then ;)

The strips look awesome! Can see where the jets fans are coming from though.

Having been all red for so long I would lose my shit if we changed to Navy red and yellow hoops to appeal more to the fans of a club from a different code

It looks like Barca IMO and i was wondering when a team would go with black and white stripes. I presumed MV would do it.

Both home and away clash with Melbourne Heart and would force Heart to wear their second kit at home, like how Mariners and Jets have to both wear their alternates for derbies now.

Awful idea and they should be shot in the face for it.

love the new home strips, better then that yucky gold. They should not have stripes on both home and away though, becuase they will clash with both glory and heart, keep the gold away strip for a couple of seasons to keep the fans happier?

Should have kept the current strip as an alternate strip, would have allowed for appeasment with the fans.

Not happy they have gone the prison bars, though TBF the strips look sweet.

Read an article saying that tinker is to smart to ask the fans about this, that the die hards will protest but in the end will still goto every game and follow the club.

But changing the strip to represent the region better will attract the neautrals which is who tinker needs to push the club forward.

With the strong rumours that Jason Culina will be going to newy next year to link up with his father and also jets are said to be in advanced talks with OWEN of man u ( apparently tinkler is not luring him with money but instead horses.

If all this is true then i think they will forget all about the strip quite soon
