And as in my opinion Brosque is the best Australian A-league player ever.
How do ya figure that? He has no right foot at all and can only play as a second striker playing off of another front man. I regard him as a good player but overated.
I wouldn't have him in the top ten a-league players tbh.

I just find him very clinical and really what better Aussies are there?

smeltz no
Van Dijk no
Thompson NO

i'm talking about the whole time the A-league not just one or two seasons

Queensland Roar Brosque always impressed me more than wiser but slower Sydney Brosque. He seemed to lose his pace quite quickly, and while he developed as a player, without it he was never as dangerous.

EDIT - spelling

Culina
Thompson
Corica
J Griffiths

Just off the top of my head.

Brosque is better than Smeltz, Van Dijk & Thompson? Really?

Brosque 125 Games 38 Goals. Goal every 3.3 Games
Smeltz 70 Games 44 Goals. Goal every 1.6 Games
Van Dijk 75 Games 41 Goals. Goal every 1.8 Games
Thompson 109 Games 52 Goals. Goal every 2.1 Games

And yes I know there is more to being a striker than scoring goals :blah: Not sure what makes up for that sort of difference in the goals for column though....

Smeltz and SVD aren't Aussies either.

Exactly i was just talking about Aussies

and as for the Archie TT (Turn overs and Tap ins) he can live off his two or three decent career performances all he likes.

Brosque is staying at sydney now anyway, seems like sydney fc wont let him go.

They are also calling for other clubs to fightfor their players from overseas clubs.

IMO clubs withthat attitude wont attract many quality signings apart from old has beens

Could be sydney just playing a little hard ball like what AU did with Sasa.

SFC need him for the ACL i'd like to see how he goes in that.

Good on Sydney. He signed a contract with them, so they are well within their rights to hold onto him.

I dare say they'll let him go after the ACL.

hot damn, if Newcastle gets Michael Owen I will be over the moon. Not for Adelaide but just for the A-League in general.

There's bound to be a lot of people that will go to games just to see him playing in person
