Gold Coast sign Peter Perchtold from Nurnburg.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/news/103 ... rman-giant

"Gold Coast United followed the lead of fierce Queensland rival Brisbane Roar by landing a German import to boost its A-League title chances.

With key midfielder Jason Culina out for five games in January on Socceroos duty at the Asian Cup in Qatar, coach Miron Bleiberg has pounced to fill the void with Nurnberg central midfielder Peter Perchtold – a 26-year-old, 189cm giant who has struggled for first team game time in the Bundesliga this season.

Perchtold, who until this week counted Socceroos Dario Vidosic as a team-mate at the mid-table club, has accepted a 10-game loan stint with a view to a permanent move."

QuattroQuattroDos is reporting that Pellegrino is off to Central Coast, possibly as early as January.

Also, Evan Berger is joining Perth.

His desire to play in Europe and get another England guernsey would be too strong for that i would think.

I can't imagine he would need the money!

Love to see him here though! We would sell out Adelaide oval for sure if he came!

Sooooo... the Sydney FC CEO complains publicly about the amount of money being spent on players in the league and then goes out and throws what would have to be an astronomical amount at Beckham...

Someone failed PR 101

Thats exactly what i was thinking !!!

The funny thing is, they dont have to spend as much as they do on platers, you would think perth and sydney have spent the most of players and look where thats got them

NEWCASTLE Jets have revealed their ambition for next season admitting they are chasing a marquee player with Manchester United duo Michael Owen and Paul Scholes on the list.
Wow talk about ambition! All though you know Owen will play 20 mins of the whole season.
