Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
I'm shocked, stunned and gob smacked.
A decision actually went against Melbourne!!!!!
And rightly the have the gall to whinge.
The match looked line and length, the usual decisions where the ref holds up play so MV can reset the defence, the regulation offside goal (MV's 2nd goal)
and then justice at the death
Fan bloody tastic.
Although it was difficult as I did'nt want Roar to get any points, but I hate seeing MV get any.

There was no angle of Theo's alleged handball that show's he was definitely outside the box.
And if I was a Roar supporter I would still be spewing about Melbourne's last goal. No free kick to Hernandez, it was a fair challenge.
So what are the Tard's winging about?

They'll lose - probably to Sydney or NQ.ok, that was bris only chance to lose. when will they lose! its getting beyond a joke, they always find a way to get something out of the game. melb looked great in the 2nd half, they seem to lift against good teams, jan 9th is looking shakey for united
They seem to really go at the top teams.
I was thinking of injuries to them after MV, but Victory reserve the maiming for when they play us!

Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
agreed. it was too close to call, to just play it on was the correct decision in my eyes. just a shame that it ended with an equaliserActually just watched the Theo incident again and maybe it wasn't a 'terrible' decision after all...
Theo was definitely standing outside the box, but was the entire ball outside of the line? Impossible to tell.
are we certain? next 3 games are incredibly important, i'm not certain we have 2nd spot just yet.Top two are locked in, everyone else making up the numbers.
EDIT: just noticed the A-League website's home page is trying to encourage crowd attendance, says 'Summer Football - get to a game as this season heats up'. the pic is of a MV supporter... makes me happy that a campaign such as this doesn't really need to be targeted at a club like ours, well at least not as much as a 'big' club like MV or SFC need it.

Victory are not likely to get more than 210k to their 15 games this season.
If our home form continues we are likely to get upwards of 60k to our 2 games at the oval meaning we will only need 70-75k to our final 6 games at Hindmarsh to have the highest attendances this season.

60k to the two oval games? You're dreaming.

Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
I'm expecting between 20-25k for the MV clash, dunno if the same response will happen for the Sydney match, although surely having Adelaide Oval members also attending will boost numbers
Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
50k is doable, but the biggest we've ever had there was only just over 25k so averaging 30k over the two games is ridiculous.wont be far off it tbh, will be at least 50k imo.60k to the two oval games? You're dreaming.
Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
yeah but that 25k game was capped, it would have been around 30k if not more had they been allowed in.50k is doable, but the biggest we've ever had there was only just over 25k so averaging 30k over the two games is ridiculous.wont be far off it tbh, will be at least 50k imo.60k to the two oval games? With the form of AU and the last game against MV potentialy being a title decider i'm expecting it to go 30k plus.
I won't be at all surprised if we do get over 60k to both games.

Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
SACA members were left out of the official attendance at the second game so the 23k would have been closer to 30k.50k is doable, but the biggest we've ever had there was only just over 25k so averaging 30k over the two games is ridiculous.wont be far off it tbh, will be at least 50k imo.60k to the two oval games? If that last game of the season decides the premiership there won't be many vacant seats there

Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
I think it's safe to say that because none of the teams outside the top 4 have anywhere near the consistency shown so far. Realistically the rest of the league will be scrambling for 5th and 6th.are we certain? next 3 games are incredibly important, i'm not certain we have 2nd spot just yet.
