I have just read that WSW have rejected a bid from another club for Jamo.

Whilst I like it that our club is a stepping stone for bigger overseas clubs, I do get a little tired when we let crucial players go ala Mauk.

Would be nice if we could keep some quality and build.

We will start the season weaker than we were last season (at this stage) which is disappointing.
The club is still one of the weakest financially still. That is one revenue stream they just can't ignore.

i read that his buyout clause figure had been met so wsw couldnt reject it even if they wanted?

I think they can. Same thing happened with Arsenal and Vardy.

Not sure if it means Jamo has to reneg with WSW so gets a better deal or what.

Kilkenny signs with Melbourne City. No real surprise.

They should be quality again this year, aside from Van't Schip's incompetence.

Birraz also seals 2 year Swansea deal.

Huge move for the lad and all the best to him.

I wonder if he is a chance to feature much? Who is their first team GK?

Edit: apparently they have 4 GKs presently. Hopefully some move on or he is no chance.

Would be better off playing every week in the HAL than never in the EPL.

Chris Herd's contract at Perth terminated before it began.

Obviously got a better deal elsewhere.

The article mentions his family. I think there might be more to it. Sad though he would have been a big boost to the HAL if he could get fit.
Surely he would have been expecting a pretty decent wage at Perth so I'd imagine another big name going their way.

Josh Rose to Melbourne City.

They're shaping up well.

Odd signing for city, same with Manny Muscat. Seem to be on the home stretch of their careers. They've got plenty of defenders on their books already too, interesting to see what their preferred first XI will be.

Looks like Jambo is out of WSW after all.
Off the Gothenburg in Sweden.
Not knocking the Swedish league but its a bit sad that one of the highest profile defenders of the HAL is leaving for a league of that standard.

Wish we tried to get him.

TBH he's good but he's not head and shoulders above others in the same position. He has speed and work-rate. But his delivery into the area is pretty poor for someone of his experience. IMO it wouldn't take a huge amount of development for Garuccio to provide the same level of ability going forward as Jambo.

Agree but we need another full back regardless of whether Garuccio players there or not.

For sure. My point is that someone like Jambo is probably one of the highest paid wing backs in the HAL. Where as Garuccio wouldn't be on anywhere near that. So IMO another capable wing back may not require a huge out lay.
There are a number of decent young wing backs out there that would offer a decent level of defensive security and a similar level of skill (which isn't all that high if we're comparing to Jambo) going forward with the added bonus of still being young and playing in an environment (AU) where development is likely.
Riley Woodcock and Scott Galloway come to mind.
Neither of those would be players I'd start regularly but would be worth a decent level of game time.
The club could also persevere with Ochieng although I wasn't super impressed with his performance last week considering he was playing for a new contract.

I like galloway , always puts in a good shift.

I think there is good value in poaching mv youth ( lol ). Given mv's big city mentality they will always look to have key players who are experienced and well paid so it makes it hard for many of their younger guys to break through.

This was how we landed jeggo and even mauk from city.

Its probably says something about the aleagues structure rather than mv's youth policy.
