Re: A league transfer rumours and discussion, NON AU
So City group buy Cacares for $300k then loan him straight to Melb City.
Obviously this sort of this was always going to happen.
Didn't the FFA stop the Bakries doing the same thing with Brisbane?

It's such bullshit. If the FFA are going to rule 'no transfer fees between clubs' for the sake of a level playing field they can't allow these moves to happen. Other clubs simply don't have the ownership structure to make these deals = an unfair advantage.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

This is why I argued that the salary cap be wound back. The haves and have nots are pretty clear to those paying attention. It's such bullshit. Its actually all above board. It's such bullshit. If the FFA are going to rule 'no transfer fees between clubs' for the sake of a level playing field they can't allow these moves to happen. Other clubs simply don't have the ownership structure to make these deals = an unfair advantage.
I believe city group paid a 300k transfer fee which is great for ccm to get more value from their youth system.
Any wages agreed to by city group and cacares now needs to be declared by by melbourne city and falls under the cap so there really is no cheating going.
If your advocating we allow transfer fees between league clubs i would agree because as the league evolves there are becoming distinct differences in the way clubs need to operate to survive.
Clubs like ccm and jets rely on transfer money to keep them going so any deals between clubs could be a life blood for them

Agree. This is why AU needs to get a riggle on with it development system. Its pretty obvious which side of the fence they are on.

It is 'above board' but it's still a loophole that is available to City and not to anybody else. They can use their ownership structure to simply bypass the regulation that prevents other A-League clubs from signing him.
I don't have strong views on whether the 'no transfer fee' rule is good or bad for the league. But either way - whether it's a 'free market' or not - the rules need to be the same for all.
The situation whereby ONE club has a structural advantage in the player transfer system because they are owned by a foreign club rather than locally owned is unfair, as well as being distasteful.
I have no problem with 'rich' clubs having more influence than others (that's always been the case), so long as they are operating on the same playing field. That's not the case here.

Agree City have the advantage as they can buy A-League players and we can't.
But the transfer fee does go towards the salary cap so not all is lost.
They really should abolish the 'no transfer fees between clubs' rule, not only because of what City have done here, but it would mean a more fair competition.
Right now if a player wants to leave and another club can't pay out the clause, he just has a whinge and gets released and then the other club sign him on a free.

They should allow transfer fees between clubs but only because this is a bit of a farce.
In reality though no club has ever paid a transfer fee for anyone so it's only going to be used by city anyway.
Hope I don't eat my words but I don't see the appeal in Caceres.

The transfer fee wont count in the cap as man city purchased him and loaned him to melb city. If melb city paid the transfer then it will go towards the cap. Yes this is an advantage city have.Agree City have the advantage as they can buy A-League players and we can't.

Howver not every club can have access to the 5 year 200k allowance rule for long term players and im curious if city is considered to be a new club under this rule?
Also the nix are oermitted to sign kiwis and aussies as local players without filling a visa spot, imo this is a much bigger advantage.
Im really not that fussed to be honest as its not really a big advantage city have as long as all player payments are declared let them have this win.

In light of the Luis Garcia signing for CCM. Apparently CCM are going to allocate a special bay for all the Liverpool fans who attend all season.

We play them at home in March. Hopefully he has not broken down by then and makes the trip. Would be good for crowd figures.

What a circus. In light of the Luis Garcia signing for CCM. Apparently CCM are going to allocate a special bay for all the Liverpool fans who attend all season.
I wish the guy well but its going to reflect poorly if a guy who has been retired for a year and came from the indian premier league does anything of note
