Good on Sydney. He signed a contract with them, so they are well within their rights to hold onto him.

I dare say they'll let him go after the ACL.
Actually, Sydney had no rights, due to their poor contract handling. They completely stuffed up, Shimizu offered more than what they needed to legally offer to activate a still-active clause in Brosque's at-the-time-current contract, but Sydney decided to wrongfully pretend they were some caped crusader for the league and essentially leave a really bad taste in everyone's mouth regarding Australian clubs.

Also, word on the street is that Smeltz to Perth is as good as done.

Smeltz is 29, just after the season opener he will turn 30, and perth have signed him for 3 years.

I thought they learnt from their internal review that signing oldies for a long term period is bad news.

Makes me feel quite smug the way AU and MH recruiting policies difer from the pack

Yeah it weird. It like Perth don't want to risk player young players. Clearly its paying off!

yeah i read that.

I think we really do under estimate our little league of ours. There are now players leaving our league who dont have the biggest name yet seem to be doing well abroad.

Perez released
Yeh i read that they agreed to release him on compassionate grounds as he and his wife were quite homesick. They will miss him, especially if another club swoops for Amini
