Can the Roar cope with out 2 key players?
A friend has told me that it has been reported that Reinaldo is to be leaving the roar to go play in Qatar for a $2 million transfer and Jean Carlos Solorzano to be called up to Costa Rica's squad for the Central American Cup in January.
Any thoughts?

Throw in Matt McKay, will be in Asia in January.

They'll still be tough to beat, but may struggle to close out games without Solorzano and McKay. I can't see them losing too many tbh but hopefully they'll have a few draws in there. Although saying that Barbarouses has been scoring quite a few. I hate to say it but McKay will be a bit of a loss for them. I've always thought it was a pretty poor player, but he really fits in their system well.
Reinaldo leaving would have to be a bonus for them. The guy is absolute shite. How he has (reportedly) managed to score a multi-million dollar contract beggers belief.

Take out Solarzano and Donkey form their forward line gives them
Broich - Barbarouses - Visconte as a front 3, not exactly shabby.
McKay will be a loss, but still, Portaloo, Murdocca and Nichols is a decent midfield trio.
Plus they have Henrique to come back at some stage, not sure when but i wouldn't have though he would be to far away.

Re: Can the Roar cope with out 2 key players?
as i have been saying january will be a test for them,
Reinaldo, Solarzano, Mckay, the pressure is put on slightly, what happens if paartlu or broich get a knock?
I just hope this doesnt become as excuse for their inevietable bad run at some stage during the season

Well, we've had to make do without Leckie - and there's every chance we'll be without Eugene during the Asian Cup. It's part and parcel of the world game.

I think Roar will be fine, not a huge loss imo when theyve got quality players to fill in. If one of those players has an injury though, could be a different story

I didn't think about Eugene but if indeed he is in the socceroos squad for January I'm sure Birighitti can step up to the plate and perform well and if Rini doesn't think he can do the job just yet, he will go look for a short term replacement. Not likely but a probability.

Ive been waiting for the day when Birra gets a run in the team again.

from the opinions of those who are watching Birra in the youth team i'm not so sure wether he will cover for Eugene all that well. Seems he's making alot of errors since he came back from the U20 tournament.

There'd be a few other young goalkeepers who may be thrown into the deep end if such a case eventuates?

Eugene has been our saviour so many times this season, i'd hate to see him go, Birra is alright but he's no Eugene

Birra is a very good keeper, but he is young - Hugene has the benefit of experience, he knows where to place himself to deal with balls and shots. Birra also had a good U20 tournament, but I think his confidence was shaken and he would subconciously blame himself for our loss in the final.
I have absolutely no problem with him stepping up to cover Hugene.

Pretty quiet, haven't seen anything on 442 - but Ange must have something coming through...
