http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/bri ... 5969757533BRISBANE Roar's delight at ending their Sydney Football Stadium hoodoo has been tempered by the likelihood that popular striker Reinaldo has played his last match for the club.
The Brazilian-born marksman took no part in the first-placed Roar's 1-0 win over Sydney FC on Sunday, with a hip injury given as the official reason for his absence.
But it's expected to be confirmed this week that Reinaldo is headed overseas - almost certainly to Qatar - on a two-year deal worth almost $2 million.
There was some speculation last night that a German club might make a late offer for the 26-year-old attacker, but the Middle East remains Reinaldo's most likely destination.
In a business sense, it's a good outcome for the Roar, who will make money by selling the powerful striker - who has scored 22 goals in 92 A-League games - before his contract expires at the end of the season.
But his absence at the business end of Brisbane's thus far successful campaign will also test the club's depth, particularly if teammate and fellow forward Jean Carlos Solorzano is called into Costa Rica's squad for next month's Central American Cup.

Thankyou.
See you later.
Cocksmoker of the highest order.
I'd laugh if his arrogance got him executed over there.

Nice.I'd laugh if his arrogance got him executed over there.
By the way that's the second reference you've made in regards to executions in Qatar, as if it's a daily occurence... You do realise that it's been almost a decade since they last executed someone?

Also, didn't think it was worth a new thread - but Aleks Vrteski is off to play for Solo FC in Indonesia.

The middle east in general, its not confirmed that he is going to Qatar.Nice.I'd laugh if his arrogance got him executed over there.

But what you are saying is interesting - this would mean there is even less to do in Qatar whilst not attending football.

Qatar isn't Saudi Arabia. Autocratic yes, but relatively speaking the Gulf States are somewhat more liberal than Saudi Arabia, save for their treatment of non-European workers. Yes the death penalty is on the books in all those countries- but if these countries have a decent standard of living for most citizens (which they do have) and a low crime rate, they can't be doing much wrong? You could say the same for Singapore!
And to Reinaldo. Injuries hasn't helped, but overall he's flattered to deceive. He really had only one good run of form at the end of V3 when the Roar made their first finals.

You're obviously fuming about the WC bid but it's FIFA, not Qatar, that should be copping the criticism. Hate the game not the playa!
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

There are plenty of factors that, in a fair contest, counted against us anyway.
The Middle East is strategically located between 3 massive markets- Europe, Asia and Africa- and easily reached from any of them.
