Bugger me, it's started.

OMG!
There's a new team from New Zealand in the competition!

bit of an anticlimactic opener

26,000 expected for the auckland v brisbane game, still a lot coming in the ground… wouldn’t be surprised if kickoff is pushed out a little

hopefully they hit the ground running!

Having a bye sucks. Will be great when we have 14 teams. Need more football over the weekend!

What is the latest on team 14? Canberra seems dead in the water.

Maybe Wollongong might be a viable option, but like Canberra there's probably not enough money around to fund it.

I can't see another Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth team surviving or doing anything other than splitting the support in these one team cities.

Maybe South Melbourne as the most viable test run for the reintegration of some old football?
(If even they can come up with the necessary cash.)

Thank you Otto, I did not dare speak its name.
Actually what we need is a 2nd division with promotion/relegation.

Not sure what the latest is on that, but last I read its going to watered down to little more than the national stage of the NPL is now. Not really a let down since it was a VIC v NSW league almost exclusively.

Loving all the excitement in the lead up. Reminds me of when AU and the league started and there was so much hope that that would be the time of the game.

Far out trying tipping that! Macarthur put 6 past Perth last week and Newcastle lost at home to 10 men...

Perth look absolutely woeful against Melbourne City.
I can’t help but feel for Mileusnic having to play with that rabble.

And Mileusnic is off injured (only came on at half time and lasted 15 mins).
Perth substitute is about to come on and realises he doesn’t have his shin pads on. Doh!
