Re: Adelaide United v Western United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Picking Jovanovic didn't work but I can see the logic in it. I do love the fact that Carl will back a 17 year old in and the kid is going to learn from it. We weren't our best but we weren't terrible either. Both Sydney and WU, came here to try and nullify us and hit us on the counter. They were qui...

Re: Adelaide United v Western United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

A win today would take a reasonable amount of pressure of us in terms of finishing in second place. Would only need a draw in our last 2 games to confirm it. Hopefully we can get it done but can see Western United parking the bus like Sydney did last week.

AUFC: Back in Asia?

Due to the Asian comps moving to a calendar that matches us and west Asia. There's some special criteria for qualifying for the next edition. Australia are getting 3 spots 1 entry in the champions league: this is going to go to the team that accrued the most points over the last 2 seasons. The only ...

Re: Goodwin

Thoughts on Goody tonight fellas? I didn't really have a problem with how much he played in the friendlies tbh but he did say post match that he was tired and his hip was sore from playing 3 matches in a week so it does support the argument in the original post. I don't think he played badly at all...

Re: WS Wanderers v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

It's a different style to some other enjoyable periods but this might be the most enjoyable football we've ever played. We make so many forward runs and the player with the ball more often than not knows exactly where to find them.

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I definitely agree we could be better defensively and having a more stable back 4 would help that a lot, but we also don't make it easy for them. The team is setup to put pressure on higher up the pitch. if we win the ball, then we can go forward quickly and its a thing of beauty to watch. If we don...

Bernardo assisting Raphael was a nice moment too. Bet they had done that in the backyard more than a few times :) I know the club have tried a few times but it'd be great to get Raphael to the club too, he looks a talent.

Re: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

We've been on the right side of some referee calls this season (unusually) but... Cadete should have been off, Fornaroli could have been sent off and it was never a penalty. Irankunda though... just wow. Has there ever been another player in this league that can strike the ball with that much power...

Re: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Victory marginally better than us but thought we did ok. If you were to believe the half time analysis they dominated us and we were lucky not to be 2 or 3 goals down :D

Re: Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I felt the Roar did a good job of nullifying our strengths. Never thought this was going to be our best game as they're definitely a reactive team rather than a proactive one and the way we play suits them. Agree with everyone that we were subpar as well though.

Re: Central Coast Mariners v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

We've been average and deserve to be 2 goals down but just want to point out the last 3 goals we've conceded have been due to unlucky deflections.

Re: Nix v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Never really enjoy Nix games in Wellington, even when we win. Something about the stadium, the grass, the commentary. At least we don't need to go back there now. Look forward to another home game finally

Re: World Cup Watch - AU Represents

What a world cup to be a reds fan! My kids obviously know about Goodwin and that's great but I've enjoyed regaling them in stories about Leckie, McGree and Mabil when they played for us. Seeing them all make an impact has been amazing.
