Re: Coopers Stadium
I agree that this is positive news given the current climate. However, I was hoping that the Federal Government would chip in funds so that a new eastern stand and the filling in of the corners would eventuate. As it stands, shade cloth is a band aid fix and there will be no increase in capacity. I ...

Re: 2020/21 Kit released
I would prefer to see the complete kit. That is, the players modelling the shirt, shorts and socks so that we can have a complete preview of the new playing strips. I like both strips and like the fact that we have moved to the use of all three colours (State colours) as opposed to the red and white...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©
It was good to see Mirko Boland returning to action. Blackwood has to go. He is not a midfielder or an effective striker. Has played fifty games for us and has not shown anything out of the ordinary. He is too slow, not combative enough given his height and physique and spurns too many golden opport...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©
You guys praising the referee have got it wrong. He was conned repeatedly by Broxham and Kruse going to ground easily (Except the penalty claim by Kruse), and was infuriating by giving many incorrect soft free kicks against both sides. He awarded a penalty against Elsey for handball when he was posi...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Val has already signalled that George Timotheou, a strapping six foot three centre back, currently playing for a Belgian first division team (Zulte Waregem), will be heading to the Reds in January. He is 22 years of age.We have chased him in the past when he was playing for the Sydney FC youth team....

Re: Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Jessesdad, you do know that the club offered upgrades to fans to sit in the covered areas of the western stand in the absence of a decision by the FFA/ A-League/Fox Sports to not delay the game until 7.30 pm. That was what United requested. The decision makers knew that it was going to be an oppress...

Just in case you're being serious, that song was Rolling Along, and it was around AUFC a long time before Wonderwall... it's an old US army marching song that was repurposed.. It's cheesy but it's ours. Come on boys, make some noise, We’re a team of class and poise, And our Adelaide is rolling alon...

Re: Song for D’Arrigo?
My original suggestion was a shortened and reworked version of "We are United" by INXS, with an emphasis on the chorus. The chorus is, "We are United. We are United in Australia." In a reworked version, the song could include the chant that we hear between two stands at Coopers Stadium. That is, "Ad...

Re: Song for D’Arrigo?
I am not Italian or even a supporter of any Italian football club. However, I love the club anthems of AC Milan and Juventus. The crowd identifies with the respective anthems and sings them with gusto. Truly inspirational and relevant to the club. "Rolling Along" isn't that song that,"Warms up the c...

Re: Song for D’Arrigo?
It is still miles better than Wonderwall. Any suggestions then. A friend said that he would like the song "Valerie" but with the lyrics substituting Valerie for.....Adelaide. That would involving substituting all the lyrics so it can be solely about United. That is catchy also.

Re: Song for D’Arrigo?
EdDog WATR forumites,, have you been on Youtube and listened to "We are United" by INXS? It isn't well-known, but it is relevant, catchy and having "We are United,We are United in Australia" in its chorus suits the club. It is uniquely Australian and perfect for the Reds. It will need to be slightly ...

Re: Song for D’Arrigo?
I like it. It is a definite "goer." However, while we are at it, can we get a decent club song. Either get someone to write a new song with meaningful lyrics and a catchy tune or find a existing song which is suitable. I have been to every game bar three since United's inception. I didn't realy like...
