Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

For anyone interested, Erik Townsend in my view has been fantastic in compiling solid factual info free of media spin. He is an economist and has been ridiculed since january for covering corona virus. He did a podcast in early febuary talking about the economic fall out, something he was ridiculed ...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

The mortality rate is not really relevant if this gets out of hand stuckey and a very simplistic way of looking at things that most media outlets have been putting out there. Its the rate of complication that is by far the biggest issue. The fair estimate is a 20% complication rate where those infec...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

I cant really see how much international sport is going to be played now in the next 6 months. Even the Olympics are going to Have issues.

The genie is probably out of the bottle now.

Re: Copa90- Derby days, Lombardia

Rivalries develop organically. There is nothing organic about our franchises, any kind of fan culture is very quickly stamped out . As the documentary demonstrates, fan culture is what keeps these rivalries and clubs together. It keeps people coming back for the culture not for any one player or lat...

Copa90- Derby days, Lombardia

pGVqT5bjBJA Its not AUFC, but for those who have not been to a football game in europe this is what football is all about and everything missing in the australian game. Identity identity identity! Atalanta would be my 2nd team, its where my wife is from and the sense of cummunity and pride that you...

Re: Olyroos

Great outcome. Will be interesting to see how we go with D'Arrigo, McGree and Arzani back in the squad. Should make a big difference. Yeah I find it a little sad that the squad that goes to the Olympics is often very different to the squad that got them there. Obviously Arzani and McGree probably w...

Could we see and all Adelaide 11?

With the rise of the Toure brothers and Milesenic, while also having some fantastic quality in the midfield from local products the positions that Visa players would usually fill can and have largely been taken by Aussies and to a large extent AUFC products. Given we have some of these guys on long ...

Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!©

The really exciting thing is in the next 2 to 3 years we may see an aufc 11 with 100% local products on the pitch.

Injuries willing. We could field a quality aleague team as if is with only Maria and Jakobsen the non adelaide natives.

An all adelaide mid field with an all aussie front third certainly is a sight for sore eyes.

Lets hope the result is also there

Re: Who's signed for next season

Mcgree is on quite a long contract If i remember correctly, we would probably ask for a huge transfer fee given we apparently paid up to a million for him. So i wont be shocked if he stays for another season. I also cant see troisi going back to eyrooe at his age. If he goes anywhere it would be tha...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Mauk as a box to box mid off the bench sure, a better option than lia.

Boland can take the dm role and d’arrigo is can also come off the bench. I dont think this will harm d’arrigo, guaranteed game time can be a negative too , keep his reaching .

I do not understand the vidosic tumour though.

Re: Preview Rd 17: AUFC vs the East Adelaide Second XI

Underage players who are in their professional clubs first teams are much better off playing club football than pretending anyone cares about underage international football.

This could really stall the forward momentum in his career.
