Re: sOCCEROO'S THE FUTuRE
We should probably stop interviewing them/talking about them and just let them get on with trying to earn their damn cap, if it means so much to us/them/people wearing monocles.

Re: A league transfer rumours, NON AU
FIFA are attacking and reforming the PSSI, not the LPI. So far, FIFA haven't actually turned against the LPI. In fact, it seems like the LPI will go gangbusters with the help from FIFA. Looks like that league will be staying, as will its players. (PS: There's a thread for this in the Football Asia b...

Re: J-League 2011
They'd be insane to pass up the offer, both for their national team and for their countrymen's morale.

Re: Player shirts - where's the Coopers gone?
Melbourne Heart beat us to the punch. That was done ages ago.I was just thinking we're the first club to announce a new sponsor. I really think this is a reflection on how well run the club is at the moment. Well in AU!

There's nothing stopping you from writing a letter.
In fact, the more people persist and push it into their faces, the more they will begin to realise just how important it may be to the state.

Re: J-League 2011
There's so much talk going on that it's really hard to tell what's true and what isn't. There's also talk that Costa Rica and Honduras are on the cards as replacements, while the Spain talk originated from a Jonathan Wilson tweet. One quote in the MedioTiempo article is actually from Julio Meiszner,...

Re: J-League 2011
Was brought to my attention earlier today that media in South America (MedioTiempo and GloboEsporte as two examples) are reporting that Japan are yet to officially withdraw from the Copa América, as COMNEBOL has "re-invited" them (at least, in my interpretation) and have given them 10 (now nine) day...

Re: Indonesia Premier League
It will be interesting to see what the end result is. Given the Super League is run with a lot of state subsidies whilst the IPL is self funded you'd have to think the latter model has the best chance of prevailing. I could see them ultimately running two leagues simultaneously, like a MLS/USL or J...

Re: Major Signing Tomorow!!!!
Just because someone is raised in a particular country its not the be all and end all. For example a friend of mine's mother is a diplomat. He was born in Ghana then moved to Angola when he was 3, then to China 4 years later then somewhere I can't remember for 4 more years then finally to England 4...

Re: J-League 2011
True, we do have a tough one with Cerezo and Gamba both on that side of the bracket (as well as a Saitama derby), but I'd much rather those than the possibilities of Nagoya, Kashima, Shimizu, Yokohama and co. That path to the final would be an absolute nightmare.

Re: Ronaldo could have played for Heart
I don't know if marquees are really THAT effective in producing fans. Sydney FC is probably the best example of this. Dwight Yorke was no doubt a massive success, both on and off the pitch. But the interest it generated only lasted so long. What Melbourne Heart has done - instead focusing more money...

I stand by my suggestion.
We shouldn't be trying to run before we can walk.

Re: Estrada??
There's also other things like wages, possible bonuses and the etc. that need to be taken into account.
If we're making Marcos into a marquee, there's very little chance we're going to be seriously looking at Estrada (especially considering the kind of contract he'd be expecting to come here).
