Re: New Signing - Deigo Estrada
Que sera sera Much prefer someone who plays for the shirt rather than short-term gain. IMO signing this kid may lead to BIG dissappointment - that is if he's good and the Koreans, Japanese Uzebeks and any other mob that can offer him more money doesn't come along! Still it'd be nice to see him run a...

Re: Let's go back in time.
While I agree completely with our improvement this season, it still hurts to see a team which only finished a couple of places above us attain silverware and guarenteed ACL participation

Re: Roar without Thomas Broich, Matt McKay
Broich is likely to miss with a groin injury, whilst skipper Matt McKay is on Asian Cup duty. Ivan Franjic, who is battling a quad injury may also miss. I was looking forward to cleaning them up with the addition of Usucar & Slory, but it seems they'll ptobably be held up by red-tape and public ser...

Re: AUFC chasing Griffiths
I wasn't a huge fan of A. Griffiths for us i know we didn't see the best of him fitness-wise but personally for a big defender he wasn't exactly hard at it. But he was definately a great player for Newcastle. Does anyone know how he is going in China? I thought it was Korea. A. Griffiths began badl...

Re: Lady red face the axe
By watching their games it appears that they don't train Other than a few individuals their ability to read the game, pass to a team-mate, hit a target or control the ball would suggest that their only experience with football was at school level. As they're competing at the highest level in this co...

Re: Palmer's Christmas gift
Palmer's burned all his bridges even to those who would want to support a team. I hear that a lot, but could someone please explain what exactly Palmer did? I know about the crowd cap, but that is a very justifiable stance, considering the crowd sizes they were getting, and the difference in cost b...

Re: Basic Football
How many times do we have to watch A-League players NOT putting a player on each post when defending a corner. BASICS!!!!! That is why we lost and didn't get the draw. If there was a player on the back post we would have cleared the ball. Isn't that what we teach under sixes right through to under ...

Re: How "mainstream" is Adelaide United - or solid support?
You're quite right sevengoals post war migration was the key, without doubt. I used to play for the Pirates and Colin Alagich's history of the club tells me that it was the second club to be formed in Australia and that it is well over 100 years old and as Adelaide is the fifth most populated city i...

Re: How "mainstream" is Adelaide United - or solid support?
Without any knowledge of " mainstreaming " in other cities I would say the Reds are a " mainstream " sports team here. I would put this down to 2 foundation rules. 1. Adelaide is a football city . The fact that Adelaide's heritage base is English, German and Scot v the traditional English - Irish ( ...

Re: Round 17: Melbourne Victory v Brisbane Roar
ok, that was bris only chance to lose. when will they lose! its getting beyond a joke, they always find a way to get something out of the game. melb looked great in the 2nd half, they seem to lift against good teams, jan 9th is looking shakey for united :( They'll lose - probably to Sydney or NQ. T...

Re: Introduce yourself.
Hi everyone, used to be Utd Fan on the reds forum. I am passionate about football and our reds and at times I get a little grumpy. Still I am over 50 now, so I am entitled to be, so if you can put up with my old fashioned rants from time to time, we will get along fine. G'Day to you all. :) Your no...

Re: have "RESPECT FOR ONEANOTHER"
As I'm not a northern end man 'cause I watch from the western stand. I've been an avid Reds man since its inception in 2003 and know nothing of what you speak, I must abmit that it baffles me why any person within Hindmarsh would give s hit to anyone else - just too much of an ol' fart who realises ...
