Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

If other states follow the lead of Tasmania and close state borders , its possible the non east coast states can contain it, we havnt has any new cases for 2 days , currently 32. EDIT/ 5 new cases today 3 recovered though so SA is at 34 active cases. I am struggling to see how continuation of the A...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

What is going on down there? I get the feeling things are moving slowly and you don't really have any clear direction. As for the football I reckon we don't play the TV won't pay. Stay healthy down there! B) To be honest 7G I feel like the federal government has been on the front foot through all o...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

Basically every other football league in the world have been postponed, the A-league is pressing on for now. I don't agree with this at all, the least people travelling the better in regard to community health. We already have a lop-sided league where we play teams an uneven amount of times, just gi...

Re: Adelaide United - Newcsatle Jets - Preview 15.03.20

Blah blah and I have been talking about the corona issues for a month and a half in the asian football section. I shall not rant here lol. Football is a contact sport , the aleague will be cancelled, what will happen in the next couple of months is unprecedented. The absolute majority of us will loo...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

I guess the remainder of the season can be played behind closed doors. It will be interesting to see if they persist with a finals series. The nix would be required to live in australia for the whole season if so. Which would have visa issues for their imports. There is now a 14 day quarantine for ...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

The NBA has been postponed, US closes borders with Europe. Epidemiologists is Aus calling for us to close all air borders school and public gathering to get ahead of the situation. I think its unlikely the A-league will be completed, so much revenue the clubs will miss out on. Wonder how FFA may be ...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

Very interesting time for club football around the world. Serie A playing behind closed doors at least until april, likely longer with the clubs from northern italy likely having to play their home games south of lombardy. Premier league is also likely to go behind closed doors a few reports have co...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

It is possible. Certainly slowing the spread of the virus will better enable our health system to cope, and huge crowds at sports events are not going to assist. The Swiss League has shut down its 1st & 2nd tier given their proximity to Northern Italy. On the bright side the muppets panic buying to...

Re: Who's signed for next season

It will be interesting next season where our visa players are positioned on the pitch. Al hassan Toure is proven at this level now with Yengi still finding his feet, I would probably be happy to let Toure develop and not sign a visa striker, but then the same goes for our wingers. In the midfield yo...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

There could be real possibility the A-league grand final may be played behind closed doors. Australia is probably leading the world in being proactive and we have the benefit of being an island nation so spread can be contained easier than in the schenghen area of europe for example. However it can ...

Imagine the flavour in a Mauk, Troisi and D'arrigo midfield playing away to victory in a derby. All 3 love to get stuck in.

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

Yesterday josh frydenberg commented that this will cost the economy more than this seasons bushfires. I work with economies in developing nations and there are governance issues that also raise their head; not least being policy cost assessment. This is particularly important for vulnerable economi...
