Re: National Second Tier

My understanding is Football Australia (FA) is responsible for the NST, rather than the APL.

FA aren't in the same financial trouble as APL (at least nothing has been reported) and obviously want to press on with it.

Re: Preview: Adelaide United - WS Wanderers 24.02.24

If we lose this, the season will be officially over - 9 point gap to them in 6th place.

A win, and we are only 3 points adrift.

The ultimate 6-pointer.

Expectations are low but anything can happen in this league.

No Hiro or Cavallo, but Nestor, Ben, Ansell, Toure are all selected.

Agree on the comments re Carl. Seems to be hanging players out to dry which is never a good look and terrible for morale.

Best coaches around the world get behind their players when times get tough and take responsibility.

Question is: who is gonna come in to work with kids and no budget?

No win in 3, fresh off a draw against cellar dwellers PG...

Form suggests a comfortable loss but anything can happen with this squad.

A real 6 pointer in the context of the finals.

Re: RE: Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

No ones disputing that we need 2-3 new players in their prime (not more kids or more mid to late 30’s players).
I just think the majority of our fans are better than you’re suggesting, and won’t just abandon ship when the team needs them most.
Spot on.

Back to back home games always hurt attendance. Not the only factor but a big one.

11 games left with only 4 at home...

Friday's draw really hurts our finals' hopes.

Re: Who's signed for next season

Dukuly and or Ikonomidis are our deadline day targets.

Not sure either are what we need (defensive midfielder) but they would give us depth and experience.

Barr is injured, same with Ansell.

VDS recently did an interview where he said he's almost ready to resume full training after his injury didn't recover as planned.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

I think Jimmy Jeggo is a massive miss. I know he’s a Melbourne native but I do wonder whether the club made enquiries about him? Class player, great history with the club and in a crucial position [emoji1745] Keeping that box to box spot open for Mauk I'd say. Bit of a gamble if so. Bingo ! :D http...

Re: RE: Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!

Mauk was another positive. Need to get another couple of good new players across the line (CB please) plus a second goalkeeper. CB. We started the season with Ansell Barr Popovic Warland challenging for the 2 spots. We started last night against the Champions and form team with Isa and Kiki who cou...

Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!

CCM might be the real deal again this season.

Solid midfield, defence that gives nothing away, clinical finishers.

Slow start to the season but looking like title contenders.

Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!

Their midfield is just so so much better than ours. Can't get any meaningful possession in there.

Hats off to Nisbet and Ballard - they're controlling the game.

Change half the squad at HT.
