Re: Obscure football clubs you keep an eye out for.

Ross County FC I have ancestral links to Ross County (far north of Scotland) and the Staggies are therefore one of the OCIKAEOF. Went on a fantastic cup run last year, including beating Celtic, only to lose to Dundee Utd in the final. http://www.attackingsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/ross-c...

Obscure football clubs you keep an eye out for.

Montreal Impact Lived in Montreal for a year in 2001 so I try to keep up to date with whatever goes down there. Great place to live and visit, soccer is pretty big there as well (competing of course with gridiron, baseball and of course hockey).. http://montreal.streetviewtours.com/arts-and-enterta...

Re: sOCCEROO'S THE FUTuRE

So who's going to 'make it'? Do we have another golden generation coming through any time soon? Re: Your 2011/12 Formation?

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking bundi, one real winger , 3 in the middle of the park, and Serg and Djite basically marauding around up the business end, floating out wide as necessary.

Re: How to turn city of bad sports into great fans

Yeah let's populate a city which doesn't have enough water to supply the population it has now. Our roads are grid locked at peak hour. Our new citizens run around kniving each other because that's what they used to do back home. there there brawn, it'll be ok.. btw how many 'new citizens' do...

Re: Gold Coast United

Sydney want big names and flashing lights i think palmer could do it. Sydney FC do, that's their style. From everything I know and have heard about Western Sydney, that kind of approach is likely to die on its arse there - the key to W Sydney will be community, community, community - the AUFC/CCM m...

Re: Lessons from MLS

Seems to be a pretty successful model, Montreal Impact (who have been playing in the USSL leagues) will be the next expansion team off the blocks. Really dependent on a functional 2nd tier for clubs to establish themselves though, don't know if you could do it via our state leagues (have Tasmania FC...

Lessons from MLS

So, Fink has written a couple of articles of late tonguing the LA Galaxy's balls and suggesting that the A-League (particularly Sydney) need to follow their lead: http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/a-league/news/1049539/Hard-sell-a-must-in-the-A-League http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/a-league/news/104953...
