Re: J-League 2011
Actually, they're still looking to play at Sendai Stadium (Yurtec). They set the aim about five weeks ago that they'd have the stadium fully-repaired by the time Urawa come to town. If they can, it will be HUGE for the morale of not just the people of Sendai, but also Japan as a whole. If anyone who...

Re: WC 2030 bid Australia?
I have a feeling it'll be something like USA 2026, Spain/Iberia 2030. You're right, though, we have a lot more to focus on before taking on another bid process. We can't just keep bidding for World Cups until we get one and hope THAT stamps the mark of football in the country, we have to actually st...

Re: ACL 2011
A decent win for Melbourne Victory last night (though I'm sure they would've taken any kind of win). Overall a very scrappy match (and not at all played in good spirits) and they can probably count themselves lucky on a few decisions. (How Robbie Kruse got away with pushing a player is beyond me, re...

Re: J-League 2011
Not a fan of Masukawa. He's a dirty, dirty cheat. But I base that on one incident rather than his overall performances.

Re: Socceroos to play in SA
Surely it would just be Football Family members in general getting priority.
Anyway, great to see. Hope everyone brings a massive crowd to the Oval.

Re: Major Signing Tomorow!!!!
You know, I have a funny feeling that he hasn't played a competitive match in at least a month. What's Matt Spiranovic up to? Is he getting regular game time at his club, Urawa I think?

Re: J-League 2011
The other foreigners who've left so far are Hugo (Montedio Yamagata), Fabinho (Shonan Bellmare) and Joao Paulo (Albirex Niigata). I don't think anyone can look down on those players, particularly Marquinhos and Hugo (though Hugo is on the opposite coast, he'd still be getting the massive aftershocks...

Re: J-League 2011
PS: Hamada as in Mizuki Hamada? Nowhere near ready.
Currently, to my knowledge (or memory), two foreigners have left the J. League: Marquinhos (Vegalta Sendai/ex-Kashima) and Bastianini (F. Marinos).
Not a huge loss for F. Marinos; in fact, the supporters are probably delighted.

Re: Expansion of the A-League
I don't think there should be any additional Melbourne sides just yet, but I love the idea of one of the Sydney NSWPL clubs making the jump up to the national league. Especially if it's Marconi/United/Olympic. I think, once we have stabilised the A-League (which could take any amount of time, but is...

Re: Spase Dilevski
Rini has already said djite would be a starter When did he say that and in what context? I mean, what kind of a manager declares months before the season even begins who is going to start and who isn't? Doesn't really give the player much insentive to work hard, does it? Holger Osieck. "I don't nee...

Re: Adelaide United "super club"?
I read in one of the forums somewhere that putting the stadium partially underground reduces costs, due to extra steel contruction etc. So... hire some construction workers from Coober Pedy and give me a big arse escavator and an instruction manual. Voila, new stadium. We can build this: http://aed...

Re: Spase Dilevski
And that was Viddie's downfall, he wasn't flexible at all, he'd stick with the same system, even if it meant we were going to lose. Coolen, on the other hand (I believe) is smarter than that. Vidmar's main problem was inconsistency with tactics in the league, if anything. I'd be happy enough with v...

Re: Hughes to Perth
putting Hughes in the same bracket as Vukovic and Smeltz is a bit of a stretch. Still gonna be an old and slow team, don't think they will be a huge threat for the title tbh. Who said I was saying each player I listed was in any bracket? I was listing the signings they've made that will change thei...

Re: J-League 2011
Tulio not only gives that presence during free kicks, but he can also take them. He's a defender, midfielder and striker (where he played at the start of his career). Tulio can do everything. He really is one of the most complete players I've seen in my lifetime. I'm fairly certain he was sent to us...
