Re: Who's signed for next season
With the strong leaning towards youth this year with some impressive quality and experience through the spine there is much about this squad that reminds me of the premiership season. If all stay fit a top 4 birth is very possible. However as with all younger players they can be unpredictable. A bre...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Easily the highest credentialed signing in the clubs history excluding romario. My initial thought was that this was cassio mk 2, an overlapping defender. Looking at our list though dm is most likely giving us a spine of experience troisi , lopez , jakobsen and elsey. A wise move I feel with such a ...

Re: Who's signed for next season
I think any long standing fans of aleague clubs need to acknowledge both that the league and each one of its clubs have changed for good. The money just is not there from a corporate level all the way down to each clubs revenues. Realistically we should expect mid to upper level players leaving for ...

Re: Who's signed for next season
I have no doubt the club did everything in its power to keep him, we can jump to knee jerk conclusions with absolute minimal infomation but the fact remains the club is committed to youth not just for philisophical reasons but also financial reasons. Its in the interests of the ownership group to se...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations
Hate to say it Blahblah, but we pretty much called this mess back in February. We pretty much nailed it sadly. If little old us can process basic info and forecast future risks Im struggling to understand how sporting clubs , leagues and politicians can claim to be blind-sighted by the situation. I ...

Re: Awer Watch
Its great to see kids who have gone through the aufc youth system become adults and conquer other countries. Even better when they are genuinely a great person with a story to tell like Mabil. He should get more mainstream media attention in SA imo, a great player and great role model. More Mabil le...

Re: RE: Re: Members forum June 2020
They made it pretty clear that there were some behavioural issues they do not want with the next coach, things like dressing down players at press conferences and other obvious things they weren't happy with. That's good to hear, I didn't hate Verbeek but he lost me a bit when he did these things. ...

Re: Season’s finished? Season starting!
There is something very reassuring in seeing Carl Veart in charge of the first team. Hard to argue. Everyone is craving a steady ship in all aspects of life and Carl certainly projects that sense of surety. I feel like Valkanis is the guy long term. He has followed van't schip around since city, to...

Re: Season’s finished?
I’m really concerned about the quality of players a smaller broadcast deal will give us. Foxtel we’re paying the player’s wages. Having been a member since the the start I feel engaged with the club. I’m prepared to pay $40+ a game to see a quality team of eleven players like Mc Gree, Flores, Isias...

Re: Staff & Player Retention
Van der Pol said the club would survive the crisis whether it panned out for a month or for a year. That is a good message to get out. The question then becomes one of what the competition looks like going forward and hence what revenue structure the club has to work with. Theres rumours overseas i...

Re: Lockdown Options
For the most part things have been fairly sensible here in adelaide. It appears the curve is flattening here and we can expect 30-50 new transmission per day which the healthcare system can cope with so fingers crossed it stays that way. I work in public transport and we have seen around an 80% redu...

Re: Staff & Player Retention
I posted this almost 1 full month ago and I feel no new information has really come since then. I stand by what I said . Its no secret how poorly many clubs are run financially, with all matchday revenues halting and a potential refund to members you have to wonder if we will see a rise and fall of ...

Re: Season’s finished?
There must be some kind of clause preventing FFA from ending the season where Foxtel would not have to pay. Its not a good look for the league that its still lingering , it should have been called off weeks ago. However I get the feeling they need the government to shut them down so as not to break ...
