Re: Preview AUFC vs MV 17/1/20
Its really interesting how divided we are on verbeeks comments. Professionally I have worked under managers on both ends of the spectrum and I prefer the brutally up front and honest variant, while conversely I have seen perfectly capable employees capitulate under such a manager. Given the manager...

Re: Who's signed for next season
So Boland has just undergone surgery in his knee which hasn't recovered properly. 4-6 weeks which takes us to January. From a personal perspective I hope he recovers well and gets back to playing soon, but for AU we need to replace him in January. Visa spots are just too valuable, particularly when...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Saturday was such a big statement, everything Bruce and Van der Pol have put into place was vindicated and we really looked dominant. Halloran, Lia and Blackwood are the only non-SA Aussies in this squad, mental and unsure if there has ever been such a local squad in A-League history. IMO we are one...

Maria was so high up the pitch in that first half he is going to need to be very fit to get back into position every time. I do like the pressure Verbeek is putting on him though

Re: Preview: Giant Sauce Bottles v AUFC
Why is Troisi even finding himself at DM? That's not his position at all. I don't think he ever was. Boland was injured, D'Arrigo on international duty and we were facing the Fowler led Brisbane. I suspect Verbeek figured, correctly, that Brisbane would sit deep and hence he dispensed with midfield...

Re: Preview: Giant Sauce Bottles v AUFC
I think we actually missed D'Arrigo quite a bit last week, I was shocked when Troisi was given MOTM last week - thought he was bang average in the first half. Second half he moved a bit further forward and obviously his assist was class but I did not like him playing the DM role at all. For me a mid...

Re: 19/20 Predictions
I agree with thisIm predicting a season that largely mirrors Gombaus first campaign.
A rough start to the season
Gertjan will be entertaining if not controversial
We will make some huge improvements 8 weeks in and be in the mix at the end of the season.
Our youth will surprise us

Re: Who's signed for next season
Is anyone else suddenly excited for the new season, I think we actually have a decent squad, particularly if Opseth finally proves to be our quality #9. This time though we are not relying solely on him because we have Toure coming through and Blackwood too. Izzo Strain-Elsey-Jakobsen-Kitto Boland-M...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Looking at our squad, I think we should be looking at recruiting a number 10, DM, left back and striker to start. Then adding depth in defence with a left sided LB who can also play CB as well as an out and out CB. I read today that former Victory LB Adama Traore is a free agent, that would be an am...

Re: FFA Cup Final: AUFC v Sydney
I wonder how much this win will boost our attendances - I think the level of atmosphere on Tuesday at a packed stadium where we were successful in an entertaining match hopefully should help. Ticket prices being decreased should be helping too. So far we have had Round 1: Friday Night against Sydney...
