They were fighting for a contract last week too though.
Still I wasn't expecting Roar to implode last week and I am not tonight.

Re: Wrapping up the season
Yep, It is pretty much guaranteed to be City 6th, they can't catch us, but with their GD they need a +7 goal turnaround, so Perth have to hammer Wellington. City do play CCM though, so who knows, crazier matches have happened this year.

Re: Who's signed for next season
2 years, I thought he was gone too, that is a good positive move.
And I have to admit, I feel like player agents have way too much sway, so many good young players sold into bad moves and then end up having to rebuild their careers in their mid 20s.

Re: The Next Coach of AUFC
This is getting messy, I was worried of all the breakdown in stuff when the Vidmar quitting story came out. I cant help but feel that its played a big part, the new owners would of been expecting Vidmar to be their main conduit to run things. The way the club has treated Kurz is not good enough, but...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Usually it is standard practice though not to announce player signings from one a-league club to another, until the season is done, even though many times this doesn't happy due to leaks or the current clubs knowing its happening the relationship with the player breaks down. Last season we didn't re...

Does that take him to 4 for the season? Amnesty for 5 cards is still 2 rounds away i think.
Edit: My research says that was number 3

You get the feeling that one goal will be enough in the game

Re: Who's signed for next season
In my mind the whole purpose of holding these young players is to sell them and thus make the money that you use on marquees.

Re: Who's signed for next season
Its definitely always an issue keeping players who overperformed their wage, the league is all about making sure you aren't overpaying and have one or two young breakthroughs. It is frustrating as a fan losing players who you have watched for many years, but thats football. With the old owners I was...

Re: Who's signed for next season
Elsey has a long term contract, so the only way he is going is via transfer fee overseas.
From what I can tell this is who is still contracted for next season (or beyond )
Jakobsen, Goodwin (2021), Boland, Halloran, Elsey (2021), Margush, Kitto, Isaias, N.Konstandopolous, Izzo, Strain, Niyongabire

Re: Who's signed for next season
Oh for sure I just meant right now is the time to be offering contract extensions to players/staff, so I just hope it doesnt impact on thatYes and no, I have more faith in our new owners to find an adequate replacement before the season ends.
