Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

It may be in the competition rules? Players are not allowed to make contact with officials. Vukovich got a lengthy ban for contact with the ref in the GF a few seasons back, and Amor was banished to the stands for a couple of weeks for touching the fourth officials arm to get his attention last year...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Var is no good. Also can someone confirm if it was Shaun Evans that reffereed against us again. He was the infamous WSW game ref where we got screwed by a late goal from one of the players that should have been red carded. Aufc then requested he never ref is again Yes it was Shaun Evans. Guy is sim...

Re: The Road to Russia 2018

I just did some stats on the other place. Since Kruse returned from injury at the start of 2016 he has had 6 assists, more than any other player for the Socceroos, and 1 goal. Only Leckie has been involved in the same number of goals, 4 goals and 3 assists over the same period, although a couple le...

Re: The Road to Russia 2018

I think the whole saga shows the footballing media in this country (atleast those connected to TV rights ( including the newspapers) are not free and publish anything that does not follow the narrative of their business partners.
A feature of Australian media not confined to football!

Re: The Road to Russia 2018

For example check out this guy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Al_Somah Im not sure we have an Australian striker who could play for the saudis biggest club with that kind of goal to game ratio. There is a senae of priveledge in the way football fans abd the media underestimate many of theae p...

Re: Adelaide United Playing Jersey 2017/18

I like it, other than the A-League logo which looks awful. I really like the new logo - the fact it changes based on the team means it goes well with each jersey. Much better than the old one. Aaah, that's why it matches. Thought we just got lucky! I just think it looks tacky. Maybe if it was on th...

Re: 2017 Asian Champions League

Wow. Quarterfinals at the ACL and Guangzhou Evergrande overcame a 4-0 away loss to finish 4-0 up at the end of normal time. It went to extra time where both sides scored a goal, leaving it 5-5 (away goals not counting in extra-time). Hence it was off to penalties where Shanghai SIPG finally came th...

Re: The Road to Russia 2018

While I agree with most of what Ghost said above, I would not have Kruse anywhere near the squad, let alone in the starting 11. Runs a lot but what else? No vision, can't cross, can't shoot, final ball consistently poor. I my view the only way we are ever going to improve is by limiting the number o...

Re: Mayer resigns?

Hopefully the club find a new CEO who will reconnect with the supporters, someone who will aim for and work toward full-houses at Hindmarsh each week and not think that 3000 at Marden for a match against Melbourne Victory is something to be pleased about.

Good riddance.
