Re: Who's signed for next season

bpowell, the club being sold IS Adelaide United. I hinted at this on the forum. Now two consortiums are bidding for the club and this has partly caused a delay.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

It is me again with an update.. There are now TWO consortiums negotiating to buy the club. This has delayed the sale of the club as well as the haggling over the final sale price. The initial negotiations that I previously hinted at were for one consortium (Prominent interstate property developer!) ...

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

Seven Goals, I am not deliberately misleading everyone with what I wrote. I genuinely thought that general agreement had been reached and that only a few "loose ends" needed to be resolved. I really thought that the media release was imminent. I hope that the deal still goes through as it should ple...

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

I was told that it was a "done deal" and that there is agreement overall. Just a few loose ends to be tied up. I was given the impression that this should be announced this week. I hope that it can be announced tomorrow.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

Reds fans, this is well worth waiting for! I have been asked to keep quiet until the media release. All I can say is that this all happened yesterday.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

The issue of our mysterious owners has been commonly discussed by United supporters since taking over the club. Stay tuned for a huge development on the issue of the ownership of the club. All should be revealed this week! It should please Reds fans!!

Re: Who's signed for next season

I was reading an article about Jack Wilshere looking at playing abroad and seeking a new challenge. Could Adelaide United make a move for the 29 year old ex-Arsenal and Bournemouth player and bring him in as a marquee player. Given that he has a clean bill of health, he would be excellent as an atta...

Re: Preview: AUFC v Sydney 29.05

Bernado (Son of Cassio) is an attacking midfielder. It will be interesting if he gets on to the park as a substitute. Juande copping a hamstring strain is a blow as he really steadies that midfield. We should put Lopez there and not at full back. Kitto has the pace to cope with speedy Sydney player ...

Re: Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar Match Day jamboree!!!©

One possible solution is to play Goodwin as a 10. He has the creativity and the game to play in this role. He takes free kicks and would be most effective as an attacking midfielder. We have plenty of options in attack with Yengi the Toure brothers and Dukuly.

Re: Wellington Phoenix v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Like an increasing number of fans, I rate Yengi, Mohammad and Al Hassan Toure as being more effective than Juric. He lacks pace and doesn't take on defenders like the young boys. He also doesn't get into the penalty area quick enough to reach crosses after quick counter attacks.

Re: Preview: Wellington v AUFC Sun 25/04

I actually think that Pacifique deserves more game time given what he has done during limited substitute appearances. The guy is a skilful and pacey player who is capable of setting up goals for his teammates. We have an embarassment of riches in terms of attacking players for a change.

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I look forward to the recovery of all our injured players. Jakobsen and Lopez will solidify our defence. But imagine Mohammad Toure and Yengi as twin strikers up front with an in-form Al Hassan Toure perhaps as a super sub. I actually prefer these young strikers to Juric, who is slow and often doesn...

Re: Preview: Sydney FC v AUFC, Sunday 18/04/21

I am loving the playing style and the depth of the squad. I think, however, that Kusini Yengi should be up front or at least on the bench for this one. Juric should be rested. Yengi has done exceptionally well and doesn't deserve to be cut from the squad. Let him run at Sydney's central defenders in...

Re: WS Wanderers v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I really think that Goodwin should be played in the attacking midfield position and behind the central striker. He has the talent and pace to properly replace McGree in that position. We have good wingers in Halloran, Dukuly and Nyongabire, so Goodwin's talent would serve the team better there. I he...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Offshore Jack, is the new Spanish player a defensive midfielder with the initials R.B? Not only do we need an attacking midfielder, but I wasn't impressed with R.B when he last played in Australia. Yes he has experience (Over 150 games in La Liga) but we need somebody better than him.
