Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Both sides appear to believe the midfield is superfluous. We’ve still got those deer in the headlights defensive changers in us. But at least we’re actually trying to score when we go forward.

Re: 2023 Asian Cup
Jordan beat South Korea to get to the Asian Cup final. Incredible achievement. Jordan have always been bit of an enigma, and quite a bogey side for the Socceroos. They play a much more structured game than is common in the region (hence bringing us unstuck without resorting to parking the bus), how...

Re: Asian Cup 2023 (in 2024 because … $$)
Go Gue-sung equalized in the 99th minute taking it to extra time and then penalties, where South Korea prevailed. Long game, but South Korea deserved the win.
We have a 3-day additional break to a team that played all the way to penalties. It is an advantage, but the way we are playing.........

Tajikistan just knocked off UAE in a penalty shoot-out!
The Tajiks are truly the surprise package of this tournament.

Re: UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifiers
The qualifiers have started and normally I jump on my mini excavator and don't pay a lot of attention, however Kazakhstan's 3-0 victory over Scotland raised the eyebrows and marks a great start for the Hawks (a team I still think would be better suited to the AFC). Thus far the games have largely g...

Re: Asian Cup 2023 (in 2024 because … $$)
Qatar had a 3-0 win against Lebanon, a score-line that didn't reflect the match with Lebanon unlucky not to walk away with at least a point. China had a 0-0 draw with Tajikistan, and were lucky to get the point. The Tajiks were lively (though blazed away with reckless abandon) Uzbekistan dominated p...

Re: Rule change they just told us about ... 2024
It's hard not to be cynical about this league. I thought it being run by the clubs was supposed to improve things - remember the grand final only in Squidly debacle? Sadly, the APL have a management culture of non-consultative structural change. It all too often results in entirely avoidable debacl...
