Re: Socceroos heading to the Asian Cup 2019

The only sympathy I have for Arnold is that I feel he was hung out to dry in his previous stint. It's not that he was any good back then, it's that it took months between the FFA making it obvious he would be replaced and actually pulling the trigger. I don't rate him at this level, but I will wait ...

Re: Socceroos heading to the Asian Cup 2019

Arnold has less than a month more than Van Marwijk did to prepare. It's delusional to think an elaborate period of experimentation will take place. It will be a very similar preparation and squad to the world cup. Except with some players retired/still burnt out from this world cup. Plus the very re...

Re: Socceroos - Peru

Van Marwijk has to be considered a complete failure right? Certainly the worst non-caretaker coach since the last Arnold reign at best. Probably since the 90s though. Van Marwijk has been brilliant. He took a team that was a rabble, could not defend properly and turned them in an extremely short ti...

Re: Socceroos - Peru

There were 5 minutes to go vs France when the final substitution was made. Not enough time for Arzani or a similar player to get into the game, but more than enough for a set piece or two for Cahill to get on the end of.

Re: Socceroos - Peru

I reckon Arzani and Juric will start (for Kruse and Nabbout,) also think Van Marwijk won't hesitate to make attacking substitutions. I fear the damage was already done by the lack of ambition in the previous matches (Vs France particularly.) I 100% agree with that! Our midfield has been highly unde...

Interesting. I still thought Risdon got way more of the ball the first time I saw it.

Re: France v Australia WC2018 Match Day Jamboree!!!©

For the French penalty I actually thought Risdon caught the ball until the VAR got involved. But the VAR footage was pretty conclusive.

Reasonable performance, but only if backed up by 2 excellent games. I'm tiring of honourable losses.

Thats like the 3rd Red Card to O'Donovan that has been for some absurdly violent/reckless act

Re: The Other Finals 2017-18

I note that critics of the A-League finals are somehow never willing to go as far as acknowledging Adelaide as the first champions of the A-League

Re: The Other Finals 2017-18

It's already been announced as Newcastle I think. Plus the 2008 final was between two NSW teams.
