Re: Matildas

I thought we were average last night. we had plenty of the ball but couldnt create anything, Our last 2 goals came from crosses there were either not touched or were deflected by defenders. We certainly outworked brazil though, I think our work rate was the defining factor mixed with some luck. Tame...

Re: Matildas

So we lost to Itsly at the World Cup. What's the big problem? At least the Matildas now have a nice culture that doesn't make players feel bad for lack of fitness or for underperforming. Nailed it! Hopefully those who plotted the demise of the manager also have created a nice safe space on the moon...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Im tipping that player is armiento or d’arrigo in serie b.

It seems the most likely, italians love having big squads and loaning players out all over just incase a player turns out half decent.

Although it has been mitigated recently by the banning of dual club ownership of a player

Re: Serie A thread

Who would have thought Atalanta finish 4th in serie A! Praying the Europa draw aligns when in in town in October although tickets will probably be very hard to come by 2019 and they finished 3rd! Finished above milan, inter and roma. Its said that they had the 14th highest wage bill in serie A yet ...

Re: New Coach

Very positive acquisitions, dare I say we are feeling less like a franchise more like a club with its own unique history and culture. Hopefully Bruce sticks around for the long term , although he is an ambitious guy he will receive bigger offers sooner or later. Its also worth considering the new po...

Re: Who's signed for next season

It hard to say who would be a good replacement for isaias without knowing exactly how verbeek wants to play. Isaias was much more a deep playmaker than he was a totally defensive Holding midfielder. Much more like a busquets or Pirlo. We could easily find good aussie holding mids but an isaias style...

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

He was contracted and required, I'd be livid if they didn't get a fee.
Rumour is that we got $1 million.
A million for an aleague midfielder in his mid thrties is HUGE.

Putting the heart aside for one moment, thats a nice bit of business if the number is correct

Re: Who's signed for next season

Im on the fence about signing a qingdao player every season and ill probably reserve my judgement for 3 or so years. Clubs have historically done well from having a 5th visa player wild card that is a bit of a risk but also comes cheap and offers much potential. I dont mind this at all and we could ...

Hilarious if true. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190525/9aedc178d47b83fb6fc587dbc46ba557.jpg I actually respect aloisi, he plays good football and has learnt in some of the biggest leagues in the world. I think he is one of the best managers in the country. He can however be a bit of a doofus ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Deserves it to be honest!

Splitting hairs between eugene or isaias as all time greatest at aufc.

Hopefully returns to this city in someway in the future.

If we are losing isaias then the owners are going to really need to dig deep to bring some excitement for the new season

Re: New Coach

The coach for me is important but the real test for me will be to see what budget and signings are made. That will be the only indicator of whether nothing has changed or has. Yep agreed! My feeling is a manager of his standing would not come here to manage a team battling to make the finals, I thi...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Im not sure a true marquee player like robben would go against our youth ideals. I would assume we can expect 2 marquees every season , last year was Isaias and baba. This doesnt change our approach to youth it just means our marquee is a winger rather than a DM. I seriously doubt we would sign some...
