Re: Veart?

Hard to believe we've got a "should the coach go" thread when we are one game away from the GF. But there have been murmurings of discontent on here all season pretty much. Along with Otto, I've probably been CV's staunchest defender. I really really want him to succeed. But it has to be said, ther...

Re: Coopers Stadium

Yeah, i'm not exactly thrilled at "shade cloth" over the east (particularly if we move to winter) but i think people need to be bit more realistic under the current and future economic climate. The dream of filling in the corners and putting a roof on hindmarsh or purpose build city stadium will hav...

Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

King Carl has passed his job interview as far as I’m concerned. Sign him on for the next season or two. That is the best I’ve seen our team look in years. Full of confidence, pressing hard as a team when they don’t have the ball. I think that’s why we lost momentum at the end ran out of steam from t...

Re: Preview: Phoenix v AUFC 25/07

Given we seem to be highly reliant on counter attacking football with fast paced wingers under Carl, I'd say Toure over George even though IMO George has looked his best playing on the wing. Gomulka was good enough to retain his position but against a much better attacking side in the nix, I'd feel ...

Re: Episode 6: Return of the Reds, guys.

So a month of re-preseason has begun with everything still up in the air with TV deals, fixtures, crowds and home games all set to change. The players have signed modified contracts for the rest of the season and according to Michael Marrone, at this stage anyone contracted for next season will con...

Re: Verbeek gone?

Looks like Bruce is reading your posts Blahblah! :D Hah! I am a parochial bastard so find the SA content of AUFC utterly compelling and would dearly love for that to extend to our coaching make-up. To have a South Australian club, dominated by South Australian players, promoting South Australian yo...

Behind closed doors?
Not yet. "mitigation protocols" are being put in place but at this stage the round is going ahead as planned.

Curious on everyone's thoughts. Opseth, any more use than Baba so far? Seems to be injured pretty much constantly and has really not offered much to the team due to this. All I can say is thank god we kept Blackwood over AP................ can't wait to watch Georgie stumble around the box for anot...

Re: Preview AUFC vs MV 17/1/20

Loved Aussie Gerts response and how intense he is in those media interviews. His explanation of Kitto was very good. Will be interesting to see if he gives him a run again at LB and if Kitto responds. Journos really digging to find cracks but he wouldn't have a bar of it. I note he avoids Troisi mov...

Re: Perth Glory v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Surely, one of the questions that has to be asked is whether Verbeek is as critical of his own work as he is of the players. Kicking Kitto in the teeth may look tough but he is a player who gets little game time, isn't a natural defender and is unlikely to benefit from public humiliation. Leaders n...

I know Bruce has doused this fire but I can’t believe no one has put this one out there.....Osama Malik Is a current Perth DM that first the Bruce signing strategy to a tee and fits the narrative best.....your not following the Val crumbs guys. I’ll pass though! Not overly keen on any of Perth’s DM ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

https://www.theroar.com.au/2019/09/11/why-adelaide-united-will-struggle-this-year/amp/ After selling stars Goodwin and Isaias, Adelaide United needed to find – among other things – a quality defensive midfielder. A midfield general, if you like. For me that is a very lazy article based on a couple ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Recalling what the owners were on about with wanting to find "Chinese Messi" - I'm guessing well get a young CM/CAM/ST who's shown some potential back home. Get him training with the first team and then they'll throw him in the deep end. If he swims, they can on sell him to the next level up, if not...

Not even upset. That was the most epic efforts I’ve ever seen from the boys. They never gave up and achieved more than anyone expected this year. Really wish we were keeping Kurtz can see he’s built this belief.

Re: Preview : Adelaide United - Wellington Phoenix 7.04.19

Who's that idiot standing so close to the player that they're the biggest part of the press conference? Surely it must be a cadet who doesn't know any better? Wait...hang on...it couldn't be....oh yeah, that makes sense. The most important man in the room of course.... Will be there as always, whil...
