Re: AUFC 2015/16 Pre Season

I would love to see a south american team here like Santos... But if you want a more "proper" pre-season hit out, it might be worth exploring options with Japanese or Korean teams. Again though, I don't think they would draw the crowds either. Years ago Hindmarsh was a pre-season training ground fo...

Re: United vs Villarreal at HINDMARSH

Kamau was deliberately ignored by both Marrone and McGowan whenever the opportunity for him to run at his defender was there. We became one sided and predictable as a result. Pablo consistently finding gaps in between the lines, but because Kamau was not in the equation as far as the rest of the te...

Re: United vs Villarreal at HINDMARSH

good on em, no need to foster angst between the codes. Aussie rules is something unique and would interest many o/s athletes especially footballers. Agree. Any overseas team would enjoy the novelty of seeing, handling and kicking a unique " ball " that will remain part of a visit to Australia. Tour...

Re: United vs Villarreal at HINDMARSH

Riquelme, Forlan, Rossi and now Dos Santos.

What's with players of huge potential finally filling it at Villarreal?
Martin Palermo - another ex Boca striker
Perhaps it was because Boca's third strip was - yellow shirt, yellow shorts and yellow socks

Re: United vs Villarreal at HINDMARSH

Not really advertised, and it's too close to the end of the season so I doubt there will be a decent crowd of football hungry spectators or interested newbies. I'll be there to watch good footballer's and not to join the throng who really want to sing YNWA at an oval made for aussie-rules and crick...

Re: Playing Final at Adelaide Oval- Home advantage lost!

Adelaide oval shouldn't even be considered. The FFA, however, couldn't give a fuck about how the fans feel, or about active support! Their only interest is how much money the game will get & the State government wouldn't have a clue about football. They still, laughingly, think it's a " world class ...

Re: How United will win the league.

the way it is heading we will probably come 3rd, play at home to Brisbane and get spanked again and all over red rover. I was just thinking about this while I watch the City - Nix match going on at the moment. I'd rather finish 4th and play City than finish 3rd and play Brisbane. There's no differe...

Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

It was points dropped in another game that we had in the hand but that's football. I'm sure Josep is just as concerned as any of us but he's not going to dump on his team. We played 25 minutes of beautiful football that noone else in the league can play but then we really slowed down and tired. I'm...

Re: Adelaide United vs Liverpool FC (July 20, 2015)

I just can't get too excited about this. Watching football at Adelaide Oval is soul-sapping. I always say never again, and then go back despite myself. And wish I hadn't. Happy that its happening, love the boost it will give the game and hope lots of people get to experience a great night out...but...

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!

Have a great New Year. What I saw last night was a shaky defence, a keeper who likes being speccy but is no shot stopper. Mabil have his usual rush of blood and imagine headlines tomorrow before he's done the job - what! was that shot from 40 metres when he was one > one with the keeper? And those s...

Re: Cassio

When I hear people say that Cassio or any other player played well or never gave up on a ball or scored a super goal..I just think to myself, isn't that what they get paid to do? If you're employed to write code for a software company, you should write the best code you can. If you're a delivery dr...

Re: Cassio

Annoyed, would sum up my feelings. The man has done so much for the club just by sticking with United when he probably could have got a gig years ago with other clubs. The whole thing smacks of the disgraceful behaviour of City towards Alex Tobin, and more recently United's treatment of Dodd & Costa...

Re: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United matchday jamboree©

Mabil is oh so frustrating. So many attacks break down because he just drills the ball into the box without looking, usually there are 2 defenders that gladly accept the ball and the attack is finished. Shit night, 2 own goals, 1 disallowed and Malik injured, what can you do? This is football.. Awe...
