Re: Predictions for 24/25

Now I’ve only been involved in football (played, coached, managed, reffed) for almost six decades so I still don’t know anything about the beautiful game. I’ve been a Reds member from 2009 until 2023, so I’ve seen a lot of highs and a few lows. Here’s my predictions for next season. Coach: Veart Ca...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I agree Ed! Also, I think it's not (just) that Isa is slowing down a touch, it's that the DM role has changed a bit for us. Under Amor / Gombau (yes yes I know that was 8 years ago), we played that Barca style that when the wingbacks pushed up Isaias would drop back between the CBs to create a back ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I like Jovanovic as a backup and I'm at the point as an Adelaide supporter where I'm glad he hasn't scored more because then we'd definitely lose him  Mileusnic for Halloran is pretty much like-for-like. At his best Halloran was a better all-round player but I feel like he's losing his sharpnes...

I hate losing these big games to the new teams with zero history and tradition. They had 2 fans ffs!
Those 2 fans would have had a great evening. What a finish to the game

Re: Adelaide United Stats

As per Wikipedia Isaias will make his 260th appearance tonight. If he plays on another season he might catch Galekovic (285). Had no idea that Kitto was #3! Also mildly interesting that Halloran is in the top 10.

Re: Nestory Irankunda

In honour of his move to Bayern I'll be having a Munich-style Helles or Dopplebock @ Brightstar before the match

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

No but there's been conjecture over whether it's the last season for Javi & Isaias. I'd keep them both for another year if they want to play on, tbh

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I feel like a big crowd is likely -- whole bunch of people I know that only rarely come to matches are going to be there. Last home game of the season, recent good form, something to play for, farewell to Nestory, maybe(?) a swansong for an elder statesman ... ingredients are there for one of those ...

Re: Adelaide United v Western United Match Day Jamboree!!![emoji2398]

Is it because it’s a homeless soulless club wandering the western reaches of outer Melbourne with shit colours and a rag tag bunch of journeymen beeneverywhereelsers in its squad. Their new ground at Tarniet should address much of this (well, maybe not the colour scheme). It mightn't be much of a g...

Didn't watch the match so don't have any overall opinions but that's a nice goal from Luka - great tenacity to keep the move going.

Re: Pride Round AU- 2024

i dont care that goody and mauky had kids in the off season (and apparently no one else did, because there was zero coverage of it - maybe if they had a same sex marriage then there would be) judging from Goodwin's Insta he got married (not had a kid) in September, just as he left Adelaide for al W...

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

It's disappointing to see (on FB comments at least) people getting so stuck in to players like Kitto & Isaias. They are not the problem here. Neither are the young guys like Alagich, who should not be expected to hold a midfield together. We have a bunch of players that range from 'serviceable' to '...
