Re: Season’s finished?

So August 1st is the planned start date, which I find off. It's 3 months away. Surely with NRL starting in may, we can kick off July 1st So, FFSA comps will be able to start much sooner than that as they won't rely on anyone crossing state or national borders. Given that AUFC players have been 'sto...

Re: Season’s finished?

Looking to the NRL for any kind of sensible guidance is a bit like asking Donald Trump for medical advice.

Re: Season’s finished?

5-a-side with no refs! Jumpers for goalposts. I like it.
Or just retrospectively apply 'next goal wins' rules, in which case Newy take the title

Re: Season’s finished?

... they need better cameras than some that I saw in the FFA Cup. It still needs to look professional, not NPL. Key in this respect is camera height, flat angles look shit and if you can mount the camera at a height where you get a decent overview of the pitch it looks much better. Could definitely...

Re: Staff & Player Retention

It's tough because the level of 'professionalism' is also what has been causing clubs to struggle so much (including ours, at times), and in future if we sink into recession there's going to be a lot less money to go around. If we keep running the A-League as is and clubs like Mariners go to the wal...

Agree 100% Shin. This presents an opportunity to do it again and get it right.

Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

I don't fear for the future of football, but the league as we know it might be in trouble (frankly we probably need a bit of a reset). I just hope that AUFC will continue on to play a part in whatever comes next.

Re: Season’s finished?

My concept of getting all the teams in one regional locale for three weeks or so of solid fixtures had merit, Too late now.
I think that's what NRL are (possibly) planning .
Not worth it imo. Shut it down, let the players be with their families.

Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Yared Abetew and Noah Smith are both in the extended squad .. I think Abetew is probably the more highly rated but he didn't have the most confident debut.

Re: Brisbane Roar v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Opseth looking more and more like an Adelaide special - striker with good pedigree, obviously quality but who just can't seem to bring it on match day. Think we need to cut Opseth some slack, each of the few Scandinavians who've come here struggled early with fitness and form, even a guy like Toiven...

Re: Preview: Brisbane v AUFC : Sat 08/02

According to Wikipedia the youngest A-League player was Alusine Fofanah (WSW) in 2014 - 15 years, 189 days. Would Mo break that record if he made it on the pitch?

Oldest A-League player: Romário (AUFC) in 2006 - 40 years 320 days

Tough break for Konsta - it's definitely a good thing we have Mauk in the squad now
