Re: 2019 AFC Champions League

Most of the games out East went to script, with the Jets outclassed by Kashima. Hanoi put in a good showing against Shandong but were overrun and Chiangrai taking Sanfrecce Hiroshima all the way to penalties. Bad luck for the Thai's who very nearly caused a big upset. Out West there were are couple ...

Re: Adelaide United v WS Wanderers Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Good luck tonight! I am not going to follow the game in the mad hope that I can watch the game on replay early Sunday morning whilst all the Kiribati teenagers are asleep and off the net. That's assuming it's uploaded by then!

Enjoy your evening folks.

A win today and Victory will be hearing footsteps.

I hope Redtide's wishes for a heaving Coopers comes to fruition.

Re: Preview: AUFC v Western Sydney 16/2/19

Alas, I will have to watch this one on replay (the chances of having sufficient internet speed Saturday night to live stream are infantismal).

The "Nix are looking at a 20,000 strong crowd at Eden Park so we'll need 10,000 at least!

Preview: AUFC v Western Sydney 16/2/19

Ilso is back but is there a place for him? We are looking fit and spaces on the bench will be at a premium. Risdon v Goodwin could be an interesting clash. My money's on Goody. Western Sydney recovered from their shellacking from the Jets to record a win over the Mariners, but there was nothing flas...

Re: 2019 AFC Champions League

Never a dull moment with Boogs; he's either the hero or the villian. Last night he opted for the former and put the Jets through to the play-off match against Kashima Antlers. Persija gave a decent account of themselves though Simic, who is facing an Australian court for allegedly indecently touchin...

Re: The Back-Blocks of Asia

Vietnamese football is flavour of the month following the Golden Dragon’s good run in the AFC Cup and win in the AFF Suzuki Cup. Incheon have snaffled young striker Nguyễn Công Phượng who was reportedly being courted by a French Ligue 2 club. Goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm was picked up by Muangthong whil...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I tend to prescribe to Stuckey's approach on this one. I can't see Galloway being that keen to move within the HAL, however outside interest may be another matter. AP is still very young and whilst looking good hasn't done enough to suggest a move within the HAL would result in more game-time. I can...

Thankfully some sense prevailed. The AFP still have some questions to answer though.

Re: Perth Glory

Surely the league is Perth's to lose now. After the away win to Victory they look nigh on unstoppable. Brisbane and Wanderers over the next two match days are unlikely to ruffle their feathers. Victory are away to 'Nix then have the local derby so are at real risk of falling further off the pace. Sy...

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

The late great trainer of Adelaide Juventus, Edmund Kreft, who was at the game told my coach that it was the most ridiculous goal he had ever seen and that is saying something ... :D I was mortified at the time and wished that the earth would open up and take me away. I now cherish that comment wit...

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

If we had more articulate comentating i have no doubt people would feel more attatched to what is happening on the pitch rather than viewing it as 22 men kicking a ball. I much preferred the radio commentary with Alby & Dom as they couldn't rely on simple graphics so had to explain the game. Even w...

Re: Aurelio Vidmar

I'll take a punt.

One of the new franchises.
The Western Melbourne Nobodies perhaps.

Given his coaching credentials and administration experience, he'd be a good choice for a start-up.
