Perth have stood down their squad and associated staff, Brisbane and Central Coast have followed.

Lockdown Options

Unlike most, I have on occasion found myself in situations where being confined to your hotel room or house for a week or two occurs. The odd civil conflict or good old fashion robust election will do that. One thing that I do enjoy is taking the chance to listen to classical music. Run it in the ba...

Re: Season’s finished?

Asian Champions League requires qualifying leagues to have at least a 25 game season and a domestic Cup competition.
I think we can safely say those requirements will be turfed for the 2021 ACL.

Re: Season’s finished?

There must be some kind of clause preventing FFA from ending the season where Foxtel would not have to pay. Its not a good look for the league that its still lingering , it should have been called off weeks ago. However I get the feeling they need the government to shut them down so as not to break...

Re: Season’s finished?

Effectively. I imagine they'll continue to play the games they can on the East Coast until it all locks-up (perhaps another week or two). My concept of getting all the teams in one regional locale for three weeks or so of solid fixtures had merit, Too late now. On the bright side, my Liverpool mates...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

I see the SA & WA are putting up barriers which may effect the ability of the A-League to function in the cuirrent format.

The option of relocating the entire competition to Cairns would have avoided this, however it has happened and hence will be interesting to see how it is handled.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

Chen Yongbin has been one heck of a self isolater. Is the guy playing at all? He's played a combined 35 minutes in NPL. He's remained remarkably injury free, you have to give him that. The COVID-19 outbreak is going to see many footballers about the globe return to their home countries as they wish...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

I think the herd immunity approach is a viable approach IF the population is relatively young. Eventually society needs herd immunity, though via vaccines is the preferable approach. The herd immunity approach requires very good identification and protection of those at risk. Its fantastic that the...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

If other states follow the lead of Tasmania and close state borders , its possible the non east coast states can contain it, we havnt has any new cases for 2 days , currently 32. EDIT/ 5 new cases today 3 recovered though so SA is at 34 active cases. I am struggling to see how continuation of the A...

Re: Coronavirus Football Cancellations

Malaysia just went into lockdown. I guess it will be a pattern repeated around the World. It will be curious to see when football resumes, possibly at the time when the virus is so prevalent that isolation is no longer effective. My guess is the Chinese Super League will be one of the first to resum...

Re: Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Evening from Vanuatu, Sevengoals. I should be in Fiji but COVID-19 has thrown me out by a week. Australia and NZ are now 2 week propositions (despite the fact there is no COVID-19 here....yet).

I trust that Petchendorf's supply of toilet paper remains sufficient to see out the match.
