Preview: Brisbane Roar v AUFC 19/07/20

Oh it feels an eternity since I've started a thread like this. We are playing on the Gold Coast so I assume Suncorp is booked. Troisi is out with some minor knee surgery and Boland & Maria no longer in the country, so we are likely to have a young bench. Hopefully Brook is in form and gets some dece...

Re: Awer Watch

Awer banged in the last goal of the match to seal the title for Midtjylland. He's bagged 8 for the season with four games to go.

Re: Season’s finished?

Well I'm heading into a 6 week lockdown....again......so I desperately need the season to start again or I will go insane.
Sorry to hear, mate.

Surely the other teams can play while they try to sort out the Vics.

Re: 2020 AU NPL Season

Cool! I will try to watch some of their recent games.

Some interesting surnames indeed, and some names that I assume will be off to NSW as we are down a few visa players.

Re: Bundesliga 20/21

Bummer but we still have Union Berlin. B) Too true! Every year I hope St Pauli get up. Now there is a club with a distinct culture. Sorry to hear about LASK as a break-up of the Salzburg monopoly would be welcome. Still, as you noted they certainly can spot young talent and bring it through the ran...

Re: Bundesliga 20/21

And Bremen score at 90+4' followed closely by a Heidenheim penalty! 2-2, and the whistle goes. With 2 away goals it will be Werder Bremen making up the last position for 20/21. Good news for Yuya Osako (assuming he stays at Bremen), less so for the romantics who'd have loved to have Heidenheim in th...

Re: Bundesliga 20/21

Heidenheim score in the 85'! Wow, I thought Weder Bremen had them done and dusted. Guess again.

Re: Bundesliga 20/21

1st leg of the promotion/relegation game is 0-0. Return leg at Heidenheim tomorrow morning (for us at least!).
0-1 for Bremen after 10min ...

Own goal.

B)
Oh dear. Still 0-1 at 61' .

AFC Asian Cup 2027 Bidding

Bids were to be in by June 30 and the bidders are: Qatar Saudi Arabia Iran India Uzbekistan I am not sure why Qatar are bidding given they hosted the tournament in 2011. I guess they'll have plenty of infrastructure sitting about after 2022. Iran has also hosted twice before, but since the last time...

Re: Women's World Cup 2023

Just one or possibly two. Alternate grounds would be used during the exclusion period when it overlaps. I've often though Glenelg oval would be a decent little alternate venue, I think it's the smallest ground in the SANFL. Throw in a regional game or two and you'd be through the overlap in no time.

Re: Women's World Cup 2023

The ACT Govt has said Canberra pulled out as a host because they required 3 month exclusive access to Canberra stadium. Given that grounds like Hindmarsh are involved, I assume this means the A-League isn't moving to winter any time soon then. There would just be a hiatus over the international win...

Re: J1-League

J League kicks off again this weekend. Round 2 after the first match-day back in February. It has been decided to expand the league to 20 teams so there will be no relegation this year, just promotion. The same for J2. J2 has already restarted with mighty V-Varen Nagasaki recording a win the rain ag...

Bundesliga 20/21

Paderborn and Dusseldorf will be heading to Bundesliga 2 for the season, a real pity for the former as they provided some of the most exciting football for the 19/20 season. Not often you can say that about a team that came last. Replacing them are VFB Stuttgardt, still not sure how they ended up re...

Re: BeoutQ

The chickens are coming home to roost. beIN has reassessed Siere A's broadcasting rights and is treating them as 'non-exclusive', and hence worth a hell of a lot less. The fact Serie A did very little to fight the piracy operation and indeed effectively colluded with the Saudi's by selling Coppa Ita...
