Re: Adelaide United - General Issues and Discussion

I just saw the riverbank west stadium proposal. On the surface it looks like an awesome opportunity.
Nice. If we do have to move away from Hindmarsh then walking distance to the Exeter would be my choice.

Re: 2020 AU NPL Season

0-4 win away to Comets, who are currently top of the table. Very nice. It seems have the younger Toure, D'Arrigo, Niyongabire, Smith, Abetew and Ochsenham back in the NPL squad helps things somewhat. We are still 3 points from safety with 7 to play, so no letting up against Para Hills this Saturday.

Re: Who's signed for next season

CB I would have thought was more important at this stage.

Re: Who's signed for next season

With Taras gone, we may as well bring Vinni back.

I know it’s kind of underwhelming but we realistically aren’t going be able to get anyone better.
As cover for D'Arrigo? Marrone can cover for him.

Re: Riley McGree

Great news. Hopefully he picks up a decent contract in Europe as he is ready for the move.

Re: Who's signed for next season

Being reported that City May have signed Gomulka.
Extremely disappointed if true,.
I hope that doesn't eventuate. I assume we are offering Gomulka a senior contract.

Re: Former Reds Watch

Guess we can add George Blackwood to the list. He's off to Oldham in League 2.

Re: Who's signed for next season

Would Marrone be out of place as a starting CB alongside Elsey? If he can lock down that position, I'd say give him the armband, because he'd surely be the longest standing current squad member. As for the Qingdao experiment... I don't have much to say on that front... Marrone would make a decent C...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Sad to see Jackobsen go as he still has value as both a player and mentor for our emerging defensive stocks. Blackwood is a good player who always seems out of position as a striker. We have a surplus of exciting local attacking talent so his departure isn't a surprise. As for Yongbin Chen, let's ju...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Is Blackwood a better option than Niyongabire? One thing I love about Pacifique is that he provides Veart with variety, especially the way he willingly takes on multiple defenders.

Re: 2020 AU NPL Season

We have Cumby tomorrow, hopefully with some points as we are masters of the draw at the moment with a record of 1-5-4, leaving us second bottom however only 3 points behind the Jets and with a game in hand. How many of the squad that went to the Hub will be able to play in the SANPL? I believed it w...

Re: Who's signed for next season

We need a new left back. Kitto does a solid job but sometimes it shows that it's not his natural position. Scott Galloway seems to be 3rd choice at City now. Halloran did leave him for dead for our second goal the other night, so maybe he's gone backwards a bit since leaving AU. Worth a look though...

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Plenty of positives to take from the last 5 games. It is exciting as we basically have next season's team coming off the bench. The kids have really stepped up and the two visa players we have left are add real value to the squad. We remain a bit light at the back, but nothing dramatic (and I've ye...
