Re: 2018/19 Round 2 vs Melbourne City

Abetew set to play tomorrow.
To start? Tough gig to debut with if so, but he has Jakobsen on one side and Marrone on the other which will provide plenty of support.

I see Boland is also out, so I guess D'Arrigo will start unless Verbeek wants Lia to screen Abetew.

Re: Who's signed for next season

Personally I find it quite interesting. If a young South Australian gets plucked from obscurity, missing AUFC on the way, we laud the vision of the club who found them and send a few pointed remarks in the direction of Coopers. When AUFC do it suddenly it is all dark mutterings with visions of hoods...

Re: The Back-Blocks of Asia

In Saudi Arabia VAR created a new and interesting controversy when it failed during the match between Al Nassr and Al-Fateh. The reason for failure, a stadium worker had reportedly unplugged the VAR so he could charge his phone :D . The Saudi FA deny this was the reason, but they always go into deni...

Re: Qatar 2022 Qualifiers - AFC

Apparently in Pyongyang there were no spectators allowed, no media allowed, no live coverage, South Korean broadcasters were banned from the stadium and updates from South Korean officials at the ground had to be sent via fax. The beauty of all of this was Infantino attended the match Ah, North Kore...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I'd urge caution on the cascading speculation.

I'm prepared to wait and see what the coach thinks of him and then see how he performs when he makes it onto the pitch.

...and some wierd reports coming in from the North Korea - South Korea game. The photos of the game show completely empty stands. It appears no-one was allowed to go to the game. That damn national athem thing again?

Re: Qatar 2022 Qualifiers - AFC

Looks like I made some good calls! Palestine drew with Saudi and the Uzbeks managed an away win in Singapore sending them to the top of the group with 6 points with Saudi trailing on 5 closely followed by Palestine and Singapore for 4 apiece. The Uzbekistan-Saudi Arabia game on the 15th of November ...

Re: 2022 World Cup Qualifiers - Socceroos

Hopefully a tougher game tonight, our defence could really use a decent hit-out. I'm not convinced it will be though. I'm not sold on Harry Souttar as I'd like to see him up against some fleet-footed attackers, the type we'll face in spades in the next round. Hopefully Chen Po-Liang can find some sp...

Re: New rectangular stadium in Adelaide?

If we do get a new stadium or even an upgrade on Coopers, I'd love it to be like the Kaohsiung National Stadium where the Socceroos are playing tomorrow night. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Stadium_(Kaohsiung) Obviously not as big, but an array of solar panels over the stadium which make it...

Re: Qatar 2022 Qualifiers - AFC

A couple of interesting fixtures coming up. Group D has the potential for the most movement with Palestine v Saudi Arabia and Singapore v Uzbekistan featuring (Yemen with the bye). It is the group with the most inconsistency, however the White Wolves do seem to have regained their mojo after their s...

Pay day Friday here, so I dare say the internet will grind to a halt tonight.

Great to finally have some A-League action though!

We are have a full squad that is relatively even ...........there are going to be some unlucky players unless the bench has indeed been expanded (please tell me this is so)

Re: Major Sponsor

The Flinders Uni logo goes well with the shirts.

Corporate suites are all sold and the Chairman's Lounge almost full. Now to fill the stands.
